Why do you have to love one version but hate the other?

I've only seen one or two people on here that say they like both the US and UK versions. I know many people think it's wrong to like a version that isn't from their own country, but I don't understand why. To me, both versions are equally funny, although they're different. Even if you view one as superior to the other, is it possible to still enjoy the inferior one?

If you hate one version due to certain problems you see in it, I suppose that's your own opinion, and I respect that. I was just wondering if anybody else loves both the US and the UK shows...

"Know what I mean, know what I mean, nudge nudge, nudge nudge, say no more?"

Because people are idiots... I like both versions without any preferations. Both have their own charm and qualities.

its because alot of american viewers want to believe the show started in USA and that drew carey was always part of it, but once they see the british version and its different its like whats going on?

but tbh there are many reasons why folk are split on the 2 shows, i prefer the british whose line, but i still enjoy the american version, although im not a fan of the song games

I grew up watching the British version on Ha/CTV/Comedy Central and watched the US version when it aired on ABC. They're both great. Certain games are better on one version than the other, yet both stand alone.

I would love for the original version to re-air somewhere in the US.

People like to make conflicts. It makes things interesting and it makes them feel like they're a part of something.

And yes, I thoroughly enjoy both the UK and US versions of "Whose Line is it Anyway?"

Kindness...A little bit of it goes a very long way.

I don't "hate" the American version.
That I am American, and happily so <pats himself on back>, has nothing to do with the fact that the U.S. version never once made me laugh, and the U.K. version I've always found to be uproariously funny.

The U.S. version has had some talented people on it. Is as cause of sadness for me that I never liked it. It does piss me off when arrogant fans of the American version say the U.K. one is total crap, too obscure, etc., without going further to explain WHY.

People aren't idiots for liking one version over the other; what makes them idiots is being intolerant of the other for no good reason.
Moral: be tolerant, not ignorant people!

I never said there was a problem with anybody if they dislike one version or the other. If they have a legitimate reason to dislike it (or they simple can't find it funny), that's their opinion.

However, there IS a problem if they dislike it simply because it comes from a certain country.

I've seen 90% of the US version, and I get frustrated at having to watch it on "repeat" mode, but I decided to give the UK version a whirl and it's like watching all new episodes. I don't care if the host is different, he's pretty witty, and there's less music. So it's really kinda nice!
