No. There are just too many inconsistancies.

There's always going to be inconsistancies when you have a long series with multiple writers and directors. With any show. And, any comic book series, too. How many different originals of the Joker are there, for instance? Or, Wolverine?

Even the fact that it's about Superboy is an inconsistency with the movies. Here, he's a superhero as a teenager in college and known to the world. In the movie, he makes his first public appearance in costume when he's 30.

No there aren't

This is not Sparta. This is much worse.

It doesn't take place before the Christopher Reeve movies. However, there were plans for a new superman movie to be made if superman IV did well. It would've starred Gerard Christopher as Superman. but since superman IV flopped the movie Idea was dropped.

Superboy the series has its own continuity. It takes a few liberties from the movies but its in its own separate universe.

separate Entity...

but Because of the Salkinds' involvement I think that Tonally they were aiming for 'Implied Prequel'
-- Gerard Christopher's work as Clark in Season 2 was very much inspired by Reeve in the films...

With that being said I'd say Smallville Seasons 1-3 are a better fit and/or replace Act one of the 1978 Film save for technology/fashion
