Jackie's reason for breaking up with Gary

Did anyone else find that absolutely retarded?

I mean she broke up with him cause he wanted her to quit being a cop, but she then reveals to Roseanne that shes quitting regardless cause they're gonna put her at a desk job, but she was worried if she told him shes quitting he'd think it was cause he told her to. And i immediately was like "Well how about tell him don't worry i'm quitting cause they're gonna put me at a desk anyways". See that way he'd know it wasn't because of him shes quitting.

And then after Gary she went on to one failed relationship after another and eventually just ends up alone and crazy. Cause Fisher was an abusive asshole, and then Fred was as boring as a potted plant, and after that she just never found anyone else.

Breaking up with Gary was the dumbest thing she ever did, if she would've married him she'd have been happy and wouldn't have lost her mind.

Well, Gary was being a jerk. He knew that Jackie was a cop, and he had no right to tell her to quit. It doesn't matter that she was quitting, anyway, I know he was concerned for her well-being, but he was more concerned about how it effected him. Had she stayed with him, there would've been future ultimatums, I'm sure.
