Here comes "The Conners" (this fall)

https://moviechat.org/tt8595140/

ABC has given a series order to “The Conners,” a spinoff starring original cast members John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson and Michael Fishman. Not part of the new series will be Roseanne Barr, who played the matriarch on the long running and recently revived — and more recently canceled — multi-camera comedy. Barr will, according to ABC, have no financial or creative involvement in the spinoff.

So happy about this. I just heard about it on Good Morning America.

Well, if your business model is the Hogan Family.....

Dare they go so far to explain away her loss do to addiction? That would stir up plenty of chatter for the show

reply

They should go the more believable route and explain her loss as the result of being a big, fat slob who died of a heart attack.

LOL! I wouldn't be surprised if the network actually allows it since she offended a bunch of people and made them lose a ton of money off of a hit TV show.

I'm happy they decided to focus on the family and not just Darlene. I was in it for John Goodman during the show's original run anyhow. Roseanne always had a bit of a big mouth and it grew worse as she became more famous.

Good on ABC for actually listening to the fans.

Or they can say she had enemies n they planted a saw trap like the movie saw. BUT SHE FAILS THE TEST N DIES!!!!

A more realistic death for the character would be if she went into a Starbucks and was torn to pieces by a mob of angry, foaming-at-the-mouth liberals.

I'm so glad they went with their "The Conners" plant instead of their original "Darlene" plan. Darlene just isn't interesting anymore. She was almost as aloof in the revival as Roseanne was. Making it "The Conners" paves the way to Dan and Jackie having larger roles. It will be nice to see Dan get a chance to shine more this time around.

The show will never be the same without Roseanne but, on that same token, her character was boring in the revival. She looked like she was just there, reading her lines from a cue card. She didn't seem to commit to the role like she used to. Goodman and Metcalf, on the other hand, slipped right back into their roles with ease and were fantastic. Parsons was great as well. Even Lecy Goranson improved since the old days.

I am happy for the cast and crew they really had a rough deal. Seriously why Roseanne is so unhappy! she had a hit show yet she was still being negative on Twitter ! She should have enjoyed her renewed success instead of being bitchy and insulting towards people on social media. She deserves what she got, I do not believe she is racist but attacking any one on their physical appearance is bullying! I do not feel sorry for her.

This will flop so hard it's worth making just to prove a point. I cannot wait, very exciting.
