Was what she said, really so terrible as to cancel the show?

Maybe its a generational thing, but the way people are losing their shit over her tweet is just blown way out of proportion. How many comedians say something similar to the effect of her tweet and still remain successful? I mean this is the same woman that dressed up as Hitler and joked about making Jew cookies in the oven. Did ABC not know who she was before signing the deal to renew her show? I just don't get it. It feels like it came way out of left field by some random dude with tourettes and a chainsaw "BLAH CANCELLED! CANCELLED WE DON'T KNOW HER WE HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS CANCELLED! BLAARRRHH!"

1. Do they protest too much? yes.

2. Are they feigning outrage? quite.

3. Are they hypocrites? indeed.

4. Was what she said terrible? Well... I believe it was. While I am not a fan of Valerie Jarrett, and while I acknowledge 1,2,3 above, it is egregiously offensive to compare a black person to an ape. Such comparisons have negative historical weight. Doing so reflects badly on her network because she is not just some supporting player. She is the star of the show, the show is named after her and is inspired by her own larger-than-life persona.

But again, she has joked far worse with the Jew cookie thing. I don't see why they would ignore that, but then flip out over this. I mean Wanda Sykes called Trump and Orangutan. Why didn't everyone freak out over that? I'm seeing a very inconsistent moral compass among these liberal networks.

Sorry. I'm just a fan of consistency.

What did I say that was talking shit and ignoring facts?

reply

A producer left the show and others were leaving too, after the tweet. That probably influenced the decision. I suspect the show collapsed, not just that it was ended.

reply

Well you sound like the child of an unwashed truck stop toilet, and Donald Trump's used douche. Does that sound any better or worse?

reply

To be fair, if she said anything like that towards Trump, I think the media would be on her side. It's funny like that.

reply

Hell, I would've sided with her on that one.

reply

roseanne barr is fat

reply

Nothing she said was wrong but she went after one of the protected classes. Minorities and gays are off limits. Had she made fun of an old White guy she would have gotten a raise.

reply

She compared a black women to a ape. Is that okay?

reply

If she compared a white woman to an ape, would that be ok?

reply

It would make no sense and no no one should be compared to a ape.

reply

So you're saying it makes sense then, to compare a black woman to an ape?

reply

Yes Also how can you compare a white women to a ape?

reply

why does it make sense to compare a black woman to an ape but not a white woman?

reply

You sure trigger easily

reply

The network should have waited and gave things a chance to settle before making a decision. Even they agree with that in hindsight.

People need to chill out. The PC movement has gone to far. I'm fed up with everyone being so effected these days. They all sound like whinny children. Over effected kids are given a time it for a reason. I wish adults could be given a time out so they could THINK Before Reacting.

I've been watching planet of the apes since I was a kid and guess what? She DOES look like one of the characters from the movies. That's NOT racist, it's just fact. Heck VJ doesn't even look black, if I didn't know better I'd think she's white. She's ugly whatever color she is.

OP: Liberals have said A LOT worse than Roseanne said but, since she supports President Trump....”SHE MUST BE DESTROYED!”, according to Democrats.

reply

No. They were afraid of losing sponsors (money). They are hypocritical weasels. If I owned a network I'd give her a new show and put her on uncensored. The more leftist idiots' heads she could make explode, the bigger her Christmas bonus would be.
