Original Roseanne writer says "Keep the show send Roseanne to rehab"

Just saw the original writer from Roseanne from back in the 90's on the news talking about it, he said he talked to people at ABC and asked if there was a chance of the show being brought back as The Conner's with John Goodman as the star and they said there was ZERO chance.

But he acted as if there was hope, he talked about people at ABC right now wanting to push everyone away but in time they could change their minds.

But yeah even he said they should get rid of Roseanne's character in some way and continue the show without her as The Conner's.

I mean it was a big hit, making them alot of money, i think they may actually change their minds and realize how much money they're leaving behind and actually try the show without her at some point.

Even BEFORE this, there were already people saying it fizzled near the end and was more nostalgia than comedy so I don't know if ABC is going to risk the backlash when I'm sure there are a few old sitcoms they could bring back without the racism.

Nope, only way show can continue is to have her die in an off-screen car wreck and a never before mentioned aunt (played by Sandy Duncan) comes to live with them. The show will obviously be rebranded as “The Conner Family”

I'm a little surprised that they're not even the SLIGHTEST bit interested in giving it a go without her. Now, I'm usually not one for replacing main characters in shows but I like enough of the other characters to at least entertain the idea of it. Plus, it would actually look GOOD on ABC to continue the show without her and make an EXAMPLE of her in that context.

Plus, it's rather cold to just throw all those jobs and deals away just because of Roseanne. There is enough strength in that cast to push it forward with Goodman, Metcalf and Gilbert as the main headliners.

Exactly, they killed Charlie Sheen off Two and a Half men, they killed the wife off on Kevin Can Wait, 8 Simple Rules went on without John Ritter, House of Cards is continuing without Kevin Spacey.

Shows have been able to continue plenty of times even after the lead has left or been fired. As others have said Roseanne WAS the weakest character of the whole bunch anyways, acting wise and character wise she was awful.

John Goodman nowadays is a bigger star than her anyways, Sarah Gilbert is on The Talk and Laurie Metcalf was nominated for an oscar recently, so really those 3 are more relevant today than Roseanne is anyways,

I agree. ABC quickly renewed it for another season based off the premiere alone. Jimmy Kimmel did a skit about this last night for a show called "Dan," and before that skit aired he kinda said the same thing. I don't want to misquote him, but I recall he said something along the lines of ABC not having much right now, and this was their highest rated show. I think there's a lot of emotion flowing at the moment, so once things calm down (if they even do) we'll see what happens. I mean Goodman, Metcalf and Gilbert will be able to go other projects, but what about the rest of the cast and crew? I know life isn't fair, but I just don't agree with punishing everyone else for one person's actions...especially when there's money on the line. Sara Gilbert worked so hard to get this back on the air.

Yeah Michael Fishman and Lecy are the ones being hurt the most, i'm sure this was the most money they was making in a long time, cause i haven't seen them on anything before this in years. And with this show being such a hit with great ratings, it was gonna be making them alot of money.

reply

Exactly! I hope they can figure out something for them. I feel like the rug has been pulled out from underneath them.

There isn't enough rehab in the world for Roseanne...

They can say she got hit by a bus n died instantly. But not b4 the bus sends her flying thru the air landing face 1st on the concrete n teeth falling out with blood n she's all bruised up.

That's a definite start....lol

Yeah

Sounds like one of the previous writers/producers told TMZ that they will not do the reboot if Roseanne so much as makes a dime on the characters or storyline...I believe she developed the Roseanne character so anything where she could potentially make any money from anything associated with the reboot, just won't happen...and rightfully so...

Liberals are oppenly admitting they want re-education camps.

They did this a hundred years ago. The early progressives called for it in the form of mental health institutions which had to be shut down because the abuse by psychiatrists was so overwhelming.

I think Rosanne is already a liberal. She is just an older generation that grew up before multiculturalism and never learned how to virtue signal, so these conflicted messsges come out sometimes like when you tell a calculator to divide by 0. It's amusing to non-whites who are more racially aware than whites.

LEAVE ROSEANNE ALONE!!!!!!

Maybe Starbucks re-education camp would’ve helped.
