Times where you didn't like Jackie

First of all, I have to say that Jackie is one of my favorite characters on this show, but there were times where I didn't like her, mostly in the later seasons. Here's the times I didn't like her.

When she didn't want Fred to have anything to do with his own baby. Seriously, Fred was a nice guy, and she was pretty vicious towards him, and even hung out with another man behind his back. She thought he was too boring. He seemed to be a good guy, a good father, and a good husband, so I don't know what her problem was.

In Let Them Eat Junk, I understand her being angry that Roseanne gave Andy junk food, and went against her instructions, but she took it too far by insulting the kids. They weren't perfect, but they could have been a lot worse.

When she told Dan that if he had a job then he wouldn't notice how much she comes around. That was just mean.

Oh, and how she constantly stuck up for her father and belittled her mother. I understand Jackie's frustration with Bev, for she is nails on a chalkboard, but how come she hates her mother so much but has no problem with the guy that beat her and Roseanne as well as cheated on their mother? She even defended him when she found out!

Who else agrees?

I agree with the above, and I got real annoyed with her on that Thanksgiving episode when she was supposed to bring the cranberry sauce and she brings ONE DENTED CAN.. for all those people.. She cant even make a decent effort when Roseanne has all that work to do for the dinner..... really???? I would have told her to take her butt back home, that would have ticked me off...............

I despised Jackie the most. The character did become really annoying in later seasons. I liked it better when she just hung around to do laundry and sometimes meddled into family affairs. When Jackie joined Law Enforcement, that's when she started grating my nerves with her holier-than-thou attitude. Glad they dropped that story line later on, but it only became worse from there.

Poor Fred, he married and had a child with a lunatic. The guy was as decent as they come. She treated him like utter crap. I felt so bad when they were sitting at the dinner table in dead silence and the last thing they spoke of was divorce. It made me outraged the way Jackie just easily dismissed him. He really should have taken that nutbag to court and told the Judge she's a danger to herself and to others. Andy should have lived with his father.

From what I can recall, she did come out as a lesbian, but my goodness, cut the guy some slack. He did genuinely care about her well-being.

Remember the episode where Jackie and Roseanne are trying to sell products by providing free samples at the local supermarket for extra cash? Sheesh, Jackie thought she was the coolest kid in school. I get it, you're good at marketing, but don't flaunt it in front of your sister. Cheese and crackers are hard to sell compared to cooked meat. Jackie had the greatest advantage in that scenario.

I'm betting that, in the revival, the writers are probably going to give her some sort of a mental disorder. The way she acts is borderline autistic (probably Asperger's at the very least). I know she didn't have the best childhood, but Roseanne seemed to overcome a bunch of obstacles that life threw at her.

Though, I will give her this: I did feel terrible when she was in a physically abusive relationship with Fisher. People that live in such a toxic environment usually act that way. Victims rarely speak out about the abuser. Same with her dad and the belt. I'm glad Dan beat the living daylights out of Fisher. He had it coming.

I totally agree with her treatment of Bev and Fred! She is awful and horrific to them! I just got done watching the episode where Bev gives each of her daughters $10,000.

Then, the girls make her negotiate just to be able to move into the same city as them! Bev could move wherever she damn well pleased, especially after getting out of a terrible marriage. And she sure shouldn't have to seek permission from her ungrateful bitch daughters, especially after giving them so much money.

Hell, Dan acted very reasonable about the whole thing and even Darlene, of all people, didn't complain about having to share a room with Bev, so she definitely deserved better from her own damn daughters.
