It looks like it's happening, according to deadline.

What are your thoughts?

LOL - who really wants to watch that hateful old cow? Her time has passed.

For an actor his age (60+) John Goodman continues to get good character roles and it would be sad to see him stoop to an obvious cash grab. Something like a Roseanne revival might actually be a hit in the new social platforms like Netflix or Amazon Prime. That doesn't necessarily mean it will be any better than something like the abysmal Fuller House (which qualifies as an undeserved hit for Netflix). The story of the Conner clan has already been told and completed.

I think even more so these days.

Yeah, I think people who liked the original are still going to enjoy the reboot. A lot of people just don't like her personally so that's why you see the negative comments.

reply

There's no way it will be any good.

I guess we'll see. Aside from the stupid season s where they won the lottery I enjoy this show.
It's not everyone's fave. I get that.

reply

I enjoy the first few seasons of the show, not the last couple of seasons. But revivals are rarely good.

Unless they get the same writers to come back, the show will have a completely different feel to it than its original run and when people see the new version they're going to hate it purely because its not what they were expecting to see. If they get at least some of the old writers back I'd be all over it. Here's hoping!

Here's some updates on the project.

Looks like they've designed the sets to pretty faithfully recreate the old Conner home. Not sure how they will rectify this with the last season of Roseanne (originally referred to in the last episode as a story written by Roseanne to deal with Dan's death / Jackie being gay / Darlene being married to Mark and Becky to David, etc...)

We'll see what happens, but I've got zero faith in the show. Don't know who the new kids are in the last picture, but they certainly went full-PC. I thought Roseanne was over that kind of stuff, but apparently not.

EDIT: One of the girls is playing Darlene's daughter. She's a dead ringer for Melissa Gilbert too.
