I am sure this has come up before, but what happened to Dan's boat?

In season 1 it was a big part of the show. Then it just disappeared. I seem to remember they brought it up again in season 7 or 8, but I had stopped watching by then and don't feel like watching those last years just to get the answer to this, so I am hoping someone here can help me out.

I don't know if he ever finished it, if he did it was probably in the Gilligan's Island episode, but then in season 9 his mom sets it on fire when she's trying to kill him.

Dan starts to work on it again after having encouraged David not to give up on his dreams. I’ve always assumed he continued to work on it intermittently before dying from his heart attack.

LOL, I totally forgot about that. I was watching the first season of Roseanne today on DVD where he was working on his boat and buying parts for it. Then I thought 'Oh, that's right, he had a boat at one time."
