How can they can make a Poirot movie without David Suchet?

David Suchet has said that he would love to be in a big screen movie of Poirot. He is Poirot!

It's such a shame that a big screen Poirot movie is being made without David Suchet. He is an outstanding actor. If he was in the Poirot movie, the movie could be really good!

I hope David could make a big screen movie of Black Coffee.

A big screen movie of Black Coffee would be great.

The BBC is also going to make a remake of The ABC Murders. There's no other updates at the moment.

reply

I don't think they'll let Suchet play Poirot this time.

David Suchet wqs very good, but some of the episodes he made, especially the later ones, were not very good. i don't have any problem with someone else playing Poirot.

reply

Sorry but this is utter nonsense. Suchet IS Poirot and that's the end of it.

reply

Poirot is a creation of Agatha christie, he existed long before suchet was born, and has been played by many other people, and no doubt will be played by many more in the future. And some of the Suchet episodes were very bad, notably Cards on the table, Appointment with Death, Murder on the Orient express, labours of Hercules etc.

They probably would have to wait a bit.
However, I recently watched Maigret played by Rowan Atkinson - Mr. Bean - and it worked! So I guess it is possible if it's done properly.

For the heart life is simple. It beats as long as it can.
