After the first season they broke away from the original formula and Schtick and then developed their own personality. In this re-make, Grampa, played brilliantly by Howard Morton, is the dominant character instead of Herman, and Hillary Van Dyke was a super smokin' Marilyn.

Howard Morton = good character actor.

I did see a snippet from an ep taped in 1991. Definitely much better than the pilot of TMT...

I prefer the original, but I liked Today and agree that Howard Morton was great.
