Favorite episode?

I love all the singing ones, lol! But my fav is the one where they all go to the Virgin Islands! FUNNY!!! I also love the one where Marie almost becomes a nun, and the one where Wendy dates that geeky guy and changes her conceited ways. :)

This was a great but short lived series. I loved most of the episodes but my favorite would have to be the one when Marie thought she killed that guy in the club where they sang at. I especially loved the part where she started acting all trampy when they were singing, that was funny.

I can't think of a favorite epsiode but one of my favorite lines of all times came from JTTOU. The mom was yelling at Connie (I think) who claimed that she shouldn't get in trouble because this was a democracy, the mom's response was:

"Democracy ends at THAT door! This is Lubbock land and I'm the evil queen."

reply

Actually her line was " America ends at that door. This is Lubbock Land & I'm the evil queen "

The Best Line was when Graham said, "Alright, Alright, Who cut the Cheese?" after seeing that the government surplus cheese had a wedge cut out of it.

reply

That is a classic line!

I love the episode(s) where they sneak off to the Virgin Islands. The kicker is that they would have gotten away with it, except for the fact that Marie spills the whole story to the parents the second they get home.

I dont remember too much of the series but I remember the "Snow Blind" episode where they go to the Virgin Islands so you can add me to the list of people that like that one.

reply

No, what happened was they came in, Coach asked where they had been because their mother was worried sick. Cindy confessed and Coach thought they were lying. Then there is a phone call from Benito, Connie's date from the Virgin Islands. When Elizabeth realizes where this call is from, they realize that was where they were and Marie tells the whole story. Coach is more amazed that Doosler has a private jet and his own villa!

reply

Amazing that they could put that line on the air. I thought maybe it was prohibited.

Does anyone remember the episode in which Wendy fantasises about being an actress and her life being a TV show (of which she is the star, of course)? I loved the satiric edge.

The only episode I liked better was the one with the hot foreign exchange student. They all thought that he couldn't speak English (and Sherry, the pre-pubsecent sister, was the only one who knew any Spanish) so they all made fools of themselves talking about how wonderful they thought he was in front of him.

What episode was it when Connie was dreaming and she was looking around the girls' bedroom while someone was playing a saxophone?

Connie: Who's playing that soulful sax?

Marie(Half asleep): Sax? Who's having sax...?

I loved the show as a kid and I still quote that line, lol. : )

reply

I remember laughing hysterically for hours after the "Who cut the cheese" line.

Another thing that I remember, I think it was the episode where J.R. told everybody at school that Graham killed a kid back in New York. later, the Priest goes to the house to tell them about the rumor, and somehow a fake head gets dropped from the attic and rolls down the stairs, landing right in front of the Priest. I almost threw up laughing at that.

I love the one where Heather Langenkamp's character gets all crazy religious and starts to burn her costumes in the back yard only to go back to the pizza place in a half burnt dress and sing her little heart out.

Wow...so many other episodes are rushing back just thinking about that one.

BTW interim81...was reading your other posts. Great taste!

That's the one where she has a crush on her poetry teacher Maxwell Flemming. It was Coach who was playing the sax.

I have two favorite episodes. I really liked the first episode (at least I think it was the first episode) where Graham and Elizabeth go out for the night, naturally leaving Marie in charge and a bunch of guys show up, including the super-yummy Brandon Douglas. Marie ends up in a dark room with him, yada yada yada, her parents find out about it and start yelling at her because she was supposed to be the responsible one. The line that really sticks in my head though is when Marie says "But when that boy told me that I was pretty, the last thing I wanted to be was in charge." Oh, I loved that.

And of course, the Dinner Test with Matthew Perry.

But if we're talking about the best line/exchange in the show, ever, I'd have to go with the episode where Cindy went out on a date with Blitz as retaliation for Wendy stealing her boyfriend.

Cindy: So, Blitz, tell me something about yourself.
Blitz: Well, I can only tell you what I've heard. I'm an Aquarian, or I have an aquarium. I don't know, I'll check the van.
Then Blitz wants to make out with her shortly after.
Cindy: Not till 10:30
Blitz (looking at his wrist): Mine says 11:15
Cindy: That's a tattoo.
Blitz: But I've seen it move.

I like the one where J.R. and Sherrie broke the China and also the Hit and Run episode with Father Hargassis' car. So funny...

Oh, yeah, and Coach enters, sees the mayhem and shouts, "OUT OF HERE, NOW!!!!!" and everyone is even jumping out the window to get out. In the Blitz episode, there is the joke where Coach can't stand eyes due to a scary horror film. He puts on the TV, which says, "This is CBS!" and he runs upstairs to throw up.

As mentioned on other posts I like:
1. Virgin Islands
2. The choir auditions
3. The cigarette caper
4. Marie gets a boyfriend

I cannot remember which episode this is, but I liked the part in the episode where the girls were singing at the bar and Cindy notices a guy looking at her. She can't see his face because he has a menu covering it, but she is quickly attracted to his gorgeous eyes. She instantly falls in love with him and has her whole life flash before her with this guy. She marries him and has a baby with him, but during her day dream she still has no idea what he actually looks like. She can only see his eyes. She even tells him in her day dream that she thinks it's weird that she is married to him, but she still doesn't know what he looks like. She snaps out of her daydream and is back on stage singing and he is still looking at her. He takes down his menu and it's Doosler! She is quickly sick to her stomach.

I also remember the episode where the girls go to the Virgin Islands and Marie gets back at her sisters by getting in the same bed with Doosler and when the girls come back to the villa, they are shocked and disgusted to think that Marie would sleep with Doosler. Obviously Marie didn't sleep with him, but she was tired of them thinking she was a goody-goody all the time and not able to have fun.

I miss this show. It was so well written and the characters and actors were amazing. Please put this show out on DVD!

The only episode I really remember was one I had taped for some reason,
the Halloween episode. The costumes were mixed up and Connie was upset because she really wanted to be Guinevere.

Anyway, Connie had stuffed her bra for the (high school?)party and met a guy there. He asked her out, was going great until he mentions something about honesty. He was wearing stilts to be taller, then she excuses herself to the washroom and comes back her normal (non-stuffed bra) self. He gets disappointed and ditches her.

Poor Connie!

I wish youtube had this episode.

The best part of that scene in the Virgin Islands episode is after the three sisters leave the room, Marie gets out of the bed and starts to walk away.

Doosler: Wait! Can you unhandcuff me now?

Marie, knowing that Doosler has a crush on her, handcuffed him offscreen before they got into bed together so he couldn't try anything untoward that she would have to tolerate in order to keep up appearances.
