Someone claimed that one episode originally had a scene where a Vietnamese bar lip-synced to a Jimmy Dean song called "I Won't Go Huntin' With You Jake (But I'll Go Chasin' Wimmin)". Did this really happen or not?

I think the scene to which you refer is actually from 'Tour of Duty' (1987). The opening scene to ep 3.19 'Three Cheers for the Orange, White and Blue' has a Vietnamese man dressed as a cowboy and lip syncing the song on stage in a bar.
