why never on reruns?

why is this show never on reruns? only baby boomers have heard of this show. I may've liked it better than MASH.

I have no idea. I think it met the minimum number of episodes for syndication. I guess it mught be too dramatic for the rerun networks. It's a great show.

You could be right. I think I read somewhere that the show was created too soon after vietnam and we hadn't fully recovered. Kind of like Obamacare today: great program but the public wasn't ready for it yet. I wouldn't mind seeing it get publicized more now that it is on DVD though.

It was in reruns for many years. I saw this in the early 99's when it was in reruns as a daily show in the afternoon. Until sometime in the last decadeit was shown in the middle of the night on some cable station. It's just been a longtime it's been of the air and I guess there mo longer is much interest.

The history channel showed it with commentary.Many

years ago lifetime network showed it. I remember getting all choked up watching the Harold Russell episode.

They could show it on USA, but they are always too full with NCIS or Law and Order SVU rerun.

There could be a couple reasons:

1) most shows have 100 episodes before reruns are sold in syndication, 63 is short.

2) there could be licensing issues with music rights at least for DVD release.

3) broadcast stations like to buy 30 min shows not hour long shows, not sure why that is but it might have something to do with ad sales.

Because the mainstream networks find there are too many racist epithets in the series. So no one steams this wonderful series. Which was exactly how we were in that generation. It’s too bad the media has not the ‘balls’ to run this show. Instead they opt for History rewritten by the brainless and brainwashed millennials. What a shame! Buy the DVDs and share them with family members.
