Any african familiar with the story told on this film?

I mean, anyone who grow listening to this stories about magician, spirits and so on?
As a occidental, the only fairy tales i heart were about Jesus. But it isn't so powerful like this movie depicts. They clearly saw those forces everywhere, even on a tree.
That's why i'm asking this.
