I don't think this is the one I'm thinking of, come to think of it...

Is this the one where this Boar-like thing chases them over the cliff and Dorothy almost slips and falls and the Wizard is not only a Big Head but also a beautiful woman, a fireball, etc.

I think that one was an anime bc it doesn't look like the same animation and if it is then it's the 1970 version IMDB has and not even 5 people have seen it so I'm screwed and will never find it :(

Please let me know if this is this one! Thank you! Because I don't remember it having any songs....

Well, I recall the same version of WoO, and the artwork looks very much alike. Come to think of it it does look like an anime, with the background 'shifting' and revealing a scenery or characters like anime so vividly does. But still I think this is that version. Can't find any other version.

It's also with the wizard taking on forms the different characters want to or want not to see, and the wizard ends up being a ventriloquist. There's great landscapes and sceneries in this one. I would so much like to have this one on dvd, but I should check them all before buying them, there's too much versions.

The version you're talking about was originally made in Japan and is called Ozu no MahĂ´ Tsukai (imdb link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0206503/combined). This was 52-part series, 25 minutes each. Now it seems there is connection between this one and the Canadian one. Anyway the recently released, 4-DVD version is heavily edited version, with only 93 minutes of the story where Dorothy lands in Oz and gets back to Canssas, never seen other parts myself. I really wish they would release the full series, all 52 parts of it.

I remember having seen this show, that Japanese one, but I also remember having seen another WoO show, with a blonde Dorothy. I'm afraid I'm mixing some up, but I ordered this one http://www.dvdboxoffice.com/images/90058810.jpg at dvdboxoffice.com.

I just stumbled upon the other WoO, with the blonde > http://services.windowsmedia.com/video/cov120/drv200/v204/v20495dhwum.jpg
I did a search on Ozu no mahĂ´tsukai and found that one.

I'll see if my order brings back memories.

btw: does this ring any bells?

Yes, this is the one you're thinking of, but the 90-minute versions on the DVDs seem to be heavily edited AND have some scenes that were not used in the TV version we remember.

In the TV series, the Wizard DID appear as all those images, Mombi and Tip made an appearance in Dorothy's first trip to Oz, the Wizard also explained how the pipes made his voice bounce all around the room, and a number of other little quirks that didn't make it into the 90 minute movie version
