Ending is Stupid (spoilers)

The wife escapes from the house. Rather than drive down the road where her daughter ran, which means she could have picked the kid up and they could have driven to town together, she drives into the middle of nowhere, ending up in some concrete tunnel which is basically a dead end, and her car gets wrecked. Her nutbar husband follows her, and things are looking bad, when suddenly her ex-boyfriend shows up, because he is LIVING IN THAT AREA (like near this tunnel) and starts defending her against her husband with a rifle. Was it ever established previously that the boyfriend was living there? Even if it was, it all seems very far-fetched.

Blame the writers for the ending. I do.

I vaguely remember this movie (seen so many over the decades). The "murders" were lame. The first one, IIRC, has her head smashed against some glass then all you see is flowers falling to the floor and bottles breaking. I don't remember seeing how she died. The second one gets pile driven into the floor then is wrapped in a blanket or towel I think. Overall a rather dull movie.

I agree about the ending. Very lame just like the movie.

It is established earlier in the film that her ex is living nearby. Its almost as if he is waiting for David Keith to show his true colours and explode into violence.

The ex still loved her dearly and protected her right to the end.

Was it a millionaire who said "Imagine no possessions"?
