Being 15 years older than Bette one would never know it to watch this film. Gish had less life damage as they say and it could be seen. It would be nice to see more films like this with the oldest of the acting community showing how acting can still be done all the way until an old age death.
shareLillian and Bette should have been much more active in their later years but Hollywood has always been so youth obsessed. This movie proved they could still carry a film and give beautiful performances up to the very end.

You're right, there's no way you could know just by appearance that Davis was 15 years Gish's junior, and I guess it wasn't just appearances, considering Bette went 4 years prior to her elder co-star.

Netshopper-2, I couldn't agree more. I watched this movie not knowing the actresses' names, and was absolutely stunned to learn Libby was played by Bette Davis!!! Didn't recognize her at all, and she looked AWFUL!!! Lillian Gish had to be one of the loveliest and sprightliest 91 yr. old lady ever!!!
