I Enjoyed Bette Davis's Maggie Smith Impersonation

:O

I believe you have that backwards.....not that Maggie isn't wonderful but Bette is not only the original, but the standard. :)

Uh..that was the joke. Not that funny, i know, but it whiles away the hours.

Perhaps it was just me, but Bette Davis 1987 reminds me of Maggie Smith 2007. Not hugely, just a bit.
I found her acting was odd, why did she speak in such a strange way? Was Libby supposed to have recovered from a stroke?

reply

Guess you're not aware or you're trying to be funny, but Betted Davis had a stroke in 1983.

I think it is pretty amazing that she worked at all after that.

reply

I did not know that. That would explain it, thanks.

reply

Stroke or not, the real old Bette Davis, came shining through. Thoroughly enjoyable.

reply

Agreed!

You should probably watch 1978's Death on the Nile, in which Bette Davis plays a cranky old lady and Maggie Smith plays her cranky old paid companion.
