Malone is supposed to be Irish , but has a Scottish Accent

One thing that didnt make sense since Connery didnt try to change his accent to match the characters background. But good movie.

reply

Connery didnt try to change his accent

That would make sense because Connery never changed his accent for any role.

Glasgow's FOREMOST authority.

reply

Lol, what about when he played an Egyptian passing himself off as a Spaniard with a Scottish accent?

reply

Now THAT was priceless!!

reply

Who has the balls to tell Connery to change his act??
Not me...not ayone;)

reply

it's connery.. he's only slightly more versetile an actor than Arnold.. arguably, even Stalone had more nuance and range..

reply

Stallone is actually an effective actor when he works with the right material.

reply

I agree

reply

Stallone was great in Copland.

reply

Irish tribes called Scoti settled Scotland in the 5th century, so I'd say it's close enough.

reply

And he won an oscar for it!

reply

That's his shtick. In The Hunt for Red October, he played a Russian submarine captain, speaking English with a Scottish accent.

reply

True

reply

He's like Greta Garbo, Schwarzenegger, etc who have well known accents but is ignored bec their star power is above whatever character they play.

reply

yea but he was born right on the border.
