Worth $2000?

I was paging through an old copy of The DVD-Laserdisc Newsletter (Apr01), and came across an ad offering $2000 for a new Laserdisc of this movie. That has to be the most I've ever come across offered for a movie on any format.

Is the movie that good?

Beats me. I own it on VHS, but haven't watched it yet. I thought of trading it to my friend for a movie, because he's a Peter Weller nut.

Are new laserdiscs even possible to find? DVDs replaced laserdisc, which failed to replace VHS I think.

Laserdiscs are possible to find. At least on the internet. I still collect them . . . but I'm not paying $2000 for one!!!

I've got old Laserdiscs machines myself, i don't used them. I don't think i hardly ever did really. What do you like about Lacerdics?
When it comes to DVD machines though, the best thing in use is the "Meny" on "Music Consert" DVD's. But i don't pay much attention to the quality diffrence between things.

there must come better times,
i don't care if i have to wait untill i'm 29,
and then i'll be back stronger,
i've got time to wait much longer,
i hope things will be better by then,
there must come better times again,
i'll just keep on wishing on the stars,
i know some light can't be too far,
i hope again to feel love, and to feel hunger,
and then i'll be back stronger,
there must come better times.

Laserdiscs tend to have a more film-like look to them on the proper monitor/TV than DVD's do, which look very digital (not a bad thing since it's very clear, but it just doesn't have the same look.)

Plus, Laserdiscs more often than not sound better than DVDs since they have uncompressed audio, unlike DVDs.

So I tend to buy films that I like a lot on both formats and compare the two (if they are on both formats.)

Plus there are a number of titles on Laserdisc that are not on DVD, and probably never will be released on DVD due to rights issues.

This movie isn't worth renting. As I said in my review this movie was a stinker

Bahahahahaha!

You're the reviewer with the quote...

"My cat could have done a better acting job playing all the characters..."

Well, MY cat, "could have done a" better reviewing job than you. Plus, her grammar would have been correct.

That’s a little steep for this plodding clinker that’s weighed down by its unmitigated morosity and silly dialogue. I wonder how many copies they sold.

Some reviewer on Amazon claims the Asian DVD that's floating around for this film has been censored; it could be that the Laserdisc contains an uncensored copy of the film.

In that case it would be worth something.

But no way in hell $2000. I collect Laserdiscs, too, and the most expensive ones I've ever come across top out at about $400 - $500. AND this movie isn't supposed to be that good anyway, so one or two nude shots of Jane Seymour aren't worth two grand.

I only have 2 "No's" when it comes to MUSIC: 1) No Rap; 2) No singers wearing cowboy hats.
