What if Mad Max, had a baby with Aliens?

Just watched part of this today on-demand. I have to say most of what i have read says it is a "Star Wars" rip-off, however, i think that comes from the Carrie Fisher factor. Really this movie is a bad take on Aliens (the bad alien-esq scenery and armor rip-off and the Hicks-like soldier), then throw in some Mad max with the Australian desert, and a little Terminator-like Cyborgs, especailly the early fight and you get this abomination. Even twenty + years ago I can't think this would cut it.

Yeah, really more of an Aliens/Galactica rip-off with elements of Terminator and Krull thrown in. Sadly, this seems to be one of those really bad films with a potentially good film trapped inside it. But no matter how bad this is, I'm surprised the nearly nude torso of Carrie Fisher didn't garner this film a lot more fan press back in the day!

I agree with that...

I thought the same about a movie titled NIGHTBREED back when I first saw it. It has been recently released in a director's version on DVD, BluRay, and a limited edition version. That recent release confirms what I thought... It was a good movie, with a big budget, and directed, acted, and filmed well. Its problem was from the fact that "slasher movies/gorefests" were very popular at the time, and the good movie was heavily cut in an extremely poor choice to release it as a "slasher" movie, (as detailed in the special features).

TIME GUARDIANS may not have had the budget to be as good as it could have been, and that leaves little chance it could be re-cut and edited into a better movie. **sigh**

I wonder if the multi-appendaged Borg of Star Trek TNG have any relation to this movie? Just a thought...
