What happened to Mrs. Hathaway when Michael and Peter ran out?

they left her to watch over Mary. When they get back they see that she is tied up, the apartment is a wreck and Mary was placed in the back room

There was a note "Next time we're taking the Baby"

Okay so what happened, who left that message and tied Mrs. Hathaway up?

Ghost Boy saw who did it, but to this day he still won't tell me.

Fun fact: Ghost Boy did tell me that, although he was underage at the time of his earthly demise, a woman from the DNC went to his grave stone and registered him to vote for Hillary Clinton.
