I HAVE SEVERAL QUESTIONS

In 1979 there was a movie where some of the scenes were filmed at the State Hospital in Fulton,MO USA. They used many of the employees there as extras. I was almost in it myself. They needed a big and tall man for a scene where someone was admitted to the hospital. It was my day off, they called me, but I was at my second job that day so they got somebody else.

I'd like to know if this is that film??

If it is that film I'd like to know if it is available in DVD??

Many of my friends are in this movie and quite a number of them have passed away now. I'd love to see them again in their younger years. The type of work that we did employees either die before they retire or they die shortly after retirement. I no longer work there. I retired on disability after 35 years.

One of the sad things about that place was that the older patients who had been there for years respected us long time employees and considered us like family. That's because after so many years they knew us better than they did their own families.

The director of the movie chose Fulton because the hospital still had the original buildings from when it was opened in 1849-1850. Slave and patient labor was used to construct those buildings which were torn down in the 1990's. One old barn still stands from that era and the tunnels are still there. When I was much younger some friends and I were taken on a very unauthorized tour of the tunnels. There was one place in the oldest part where you could see where the chains had been attached to the walls. The chains were long gone, probably stolen as souviners.

Sorry, there's no hospital in this movie.
