I vaguely remember this movie from when I was a kid. Did it have some bizarre sex scene in the beginning where Caine and Field are bound together? I have this scene stuck in my head but as I remember it, well it just can't be -- in a PG romantic comedy anyway.

Ha ha, sorry for the late response but I've just found this thread. This scene is pretty much all I remember from this movie too! I'll have to watch it again just to remember what the rest of it is like! :-)
sharesame here...i saw this years ago when i was a kid and it was on tv...that scene was the only one from the movie that really stood out for me as a kid, and i haven't seen Surrender since way back then, but i have always remembered that scene, hopefully it will come out on dvd some day.

It's supposed to be embarrasing for both of them. At some point she screams at him "don't move!" to which he replies "but I have to breath!". She then says, "you don't breath through there!" all while being naked and tightly tied to each other.
I saw it on cable about 20 yrs ago... I think I got bored, or was too tired and stopped watching at about the half point.
