I don't understand Franklin's logic

If Franklin was that brillant to take over the camp and get most of the other kids to follow and obey him,why did he not think ahead. At the end of the summer, the buses would come to take everyone home and all of the counselors who were locked up would be found and tell the police that Franklin was the ring leader behind it all and the police would have tracked him down.

Some men just want to watch the world - or summer camp - burn.

A) He had no plan, or exit strategy. He was insane, or was just seduced by the power.
B) They would let the counselors out right before the buses came, and convince them not to talk about what happened. Either by threatening their lives, or just the embarrassment and shame at having lost control of the camp, and thus ending their careers. When the buses arrived it would look like a nice normal camp. Of course this was before they killed Warner, which would make this impossible.
C) Tell the police that the counselors were abusive and he did it to protect the younger kids. Remember he convinced Runk that Warner had molested a kid.
D) Sneak off the night before, either alone or with a handful of his most loyal followers. Either they would go into hiding, or just go home and claim they left camp before anything happened. Or they could go to the police and blame the revolution on the other kids.
E) He and the other CIT's would get the kids on the bus, and try to convince the drivers that the regular counselors were taking care of other things.
