Does anyone remember the rip-off of this movie?

There was a similar movie that came out around the same time; cheap sets, pretty badly done. I can remember a couple of key parts that might help jog someone's memory.

One was that the step-dad tried (I think he succeeded) to run the daughter's best friend off the road with his car while she was walking home from school... Another part that would really stand out, and this is kind of gross, is that the stepdaughter loses her virginity to her guy friend. They stop in the middle of the act because she starts bleeding and he freaks out. He takes off and soon after the stepfather comes home, walks in and obviously goes bonkers on the girl.

Anyone remember this 'masterpiece' and/or what it's called? It was so terrible that it's great. But I can't find anything on it at all!

You're thinking of Scream For Help from 1984. It's a little cheesy but I've never understood the rap the film gets. It was great suspense, had a cute heroine, and a different kind of ending. She and the mother are trapped in the family estate and she has to set traps for the scuzzballs to die in. So glad I have my old VHS of it.

what was the film about the same time with one of the caradines in it, similar to the stepfather but very very good

Are you maybe thinking of "Firstborn" with Peter Weller (he's got Carradine-esque cheekbones)?

I remember a movie with a Carradine in it too. In fact, I thought it was Stepfather 3, but I just checked and he isn't in that.

It must be this, which apparently came out before The Stepfather:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088816/

But I could swear that when I saw it as a kid, it was listed as a Stepfather sequel!!!!! How very strange!

No drama here, just straightup survival--the damned are back seeking beatbox revival

thanks buddy, by the way you do not post much do you ???
that carradine film must have been the inspiration for the step father

That does kind of sound like "Scream for Help" (which wasn't a rip-off since it came out earlier, but it certainly wasn't very good). The only things I really remember about that movie though was that the stepfather and the lead female villain have a surprisingly graphic, full-frontal sex scene (considering it was a movie aimed at teenagers) and John Paul Jones (the Led Zepplin bassist, not the commodore) did the score.
