LOL...I was watching this movie last night and thinking the same thing! Both movies have the same basic plot: 1) Swayze is a wandering lone fighter (good guy) 2)Swayze wanders into a 'town' and must overcome the bully who 'owns' the town 3) Swayze meets a blonde chick, gains her trust, then hooks up with her 4)The bully offers to hire Swayze but decides to kill him when the offer is rejected 5) There is a final showdown between Swayze and the bully's hired killer
Despite all of this, I still liked it.
Nice list.
1) In both films, Swayze has an older mentor who is regarded as best there is.
2) In both films, Swayze must avenge the death of said mentor.
3) In both films, Swayze starts a fight with the main henchman only to have it interrupted.
In Road House, he blocked a kick and landed a punch against Jimmy before Wesley fired a gun in the air. In Steel Dawn, he knocked Sho to the ground before one of the henchman interfered. In both films, he was in the lead when the fight was interrupted and that lead to a rematch where they settled the score.
