I love Star Tours!!!!
Star tours is the greatest ride in MGM!!!! And the store is completely awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

shareThe store is neat and the setting is great, but the ride is terrible. I was talking to someone who works there about the ride, and she said that Disney wants to update the ride and make it booku awesome, but Lucas won't let them. Someone needs to punch him.

Lucas refusing to allow an update to one of his works so that people who love the original can always rely on the nostalgia!! That's freakin' out of character for him!

I believe you... I just think it's funny that of all people Lucas is the one who doesn't want to see it changed. I'm going to Florida in three weeks... I'll have a more fine-tuned opinion after I get home.
The Greedo problem I've always thought is nothing compared to that god awful musical number in Jedi... Greedo can use a hand grenade for all I care, as long as they get rid of that dumbass song.

If they are planning to give this attraction a Rehab, then they should let Lucas have ALL THE CONTROL he wants...Its such a same Alien Encounter couldnt be saved ILL NEVER FORGIVE EISNER FOR THAT! NEVER!

They should set the ride up so that there are multiple trips going on other than just the trancport to endor. They should make like a second trip in which your part of the battle of hoth or something like that and the riders get to pick the destination they wish to journey to.
shareI was thinking exactly what VIsra was thinking. Just making a new trip, keep the old classic one in. That way people could choose to go on the new or old one, and it fits perfectly.
Oh and for everyone's info, don't take cast member's info at Disney about new attractions seriously. 90% of the time they have no clue what they are talking about. Lucas is full on with updating the attraction. I really don't think there is anything wrong with the attraction, it's a classic.
I don't like it so much now (I'm 28). But when I was about 12 I absolutely loved it. Well, my husband took our five year old and he loved it. So I guess Disneyland is mostly about seeing the joy through my kid's eyes.
Although once I get there I do mostly turn into A kid at heart!

When I was at Disneyland last, and going on Star Tours I saw on the scrolling marquee a message that said, "Soon Endor won't be the end-all." And, "Soon, Star Tours will offer passage to Hoth, Tattooine and Dagobah".

Truer words have never been spoken. I miss that attraction so much. It was a guaranteed scare fest. There was nothing more fun than taking an unsuspecting guest on it with you and hearing them scream bloody murder when that thing tries to pull them out of their seats.
