Did anybody else laugh...

...at the heart attack scene?

Let me explain. I tend to laugh at inappropriate parts in film. This is not the first time. I got the stinkeye from other patrons during a scene in The Pianist.

It is not that I am a callous person. I am sure I would never laugh at such atrocities in real life. There is something I cannot explain but I guess on celluloid there is a disconnect.

I have heard that people do tend to laugh at serious issues, not as an expression of malice, but as a way of dealing with the trauma.

Here is the scene for reference:

I had seen it previously uploaded on YouTube and there were people who laughed but they had a mean streak in them. They were making fun of Escalante and the remarks got more hateful and deplorable from there. I do not mean to diminish the selflessness Escalante put forth. He was a good man.

Dalton and Craig! Accept NO substitutes!

reply

No, I thought it was superbly acted.
Only scene devoid of any laughs, you weirdo.

Sod all this wine...just give me a pint of mineral water.

reply

Okay, I will try harder next time.
