this idea may have been cute in '87, but I strongly recommend that, if they reissue this on DVD, they change the cover. I mean, come on. It's downright JARRING to see this in a video store, or at least it was to me.

Yes, the cover art is quite jarring today. I just picked up this title for a buck in the clearance bin of a video store, mainly because the cover was so mesmerizingly shocking. Who'd have though a Michael Keaton film would foretell 9/11? Of course, things were much simpler back in 1987.

shareYeah i gotta say that while 9/11 was a big thing (to such an extent that in australia we dont say 11/9 which was the date here but succumb to the u.s. dating method) but you cant try and get rid of all stuff that relates to it just because of that one event. It's a general perspective issue: surely the emotions aren't so raw now that you cant take into account context etc.

I didn't find it jarring one bit, it's just a cover. It wasn't released after 9/11, so it shouldn't seem jarring. It's not like everything important in my life was gone in 9/11. There are worse things than a commando attack. If a friend or family member of yours died 7 years ago, perhaps you should let go and just say "life goes on".

This is gonna sound extremely insensitive and I feel a little bad about it...but I found this cover.......and the OP's first post..........pretty funny. I can't help but laugh. BTW his post to me seemed only part serious. But I'm loving the grumpy description.

It's weird that alot of people want pictures of the WTC building edited out ex. Spider-Man poster. What happened to "We Will NEVER Forget"? It seems like that what the powers to be wants us to do, FORGET.

Considering that the poster for this film really had nothing to do with the movie anyway, I'd have no problem with it being changed. At no point in "The Squeeze" is Michael Keaton trapped between the crumbling World Trade Center towers. This is not about political correctness, whatever that means these days. It's just about images that convey the fictional film instead of a real-life tragedy.
Honestly, I think this is a pretty forgettable film anyway, and a generic image of Michael Keaton under someone's thumb, perhaps by the artist who did the "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" posters, would probably give this movie the obscurity it deserves.
