When Watts gets all emotional at the club I think Keith should have realized that Watts was feeling something more than friendship. I know they couldn't have that happen because it would have thrown the whole movie off..but Keith should have questioned why his best friend was extremely emotional about him going on a date? I mean she poured out her heart to him and he basically didn't want to hear it.lol
shareMSM nailed the role of Watts perfectly. The "only things I care about in this #%&%#$ life is me, my drums and you" line is passionate, heartfelt and thoughtful. I loved it when I first saw this film in 1988 (on video) as 12 year-old and it's still piercing today. Unrequited love at its finest.

I feel Keith should of realized that Watts wanted to be more then friends though but he liked Amanda, I guest Keith though Watts wanted to be just friends he kind of look at her as a tomboy best friend not someone he would dated. In the movie I'm sure I'm not the only one who though this but I'm sure people though Watts was gay. Then again I should be wrong for thinking that. But still he should of realized her true feels from the heart and told her how he felt about her.

Yeah that's true, and also , at the end, Watts says " you never asked " , meanng he never asked her how she felt, but he did, as he asked her who she had been in love with earlier in the film, and she didn't tell him .

shareYeah he did and she never told him. But like I've said sometimes when you like someone and that person only see you as just a friend and nothing more and like someone else. Guys are not mind readers but sometimes you can tell that someone likes you as something more then just a friend. Keith didn't see Watts in that way well until they kiss and it was real between them. I can tell they both liked it.
