How old were you when you first saw this movie?

This movie might be the oldest memory I have of myself watching a film on television. Since it came out in 1987, I suppose it aired on tv in 1989... which means I was 7 when I fist saw this movie. I haven't seen it ever since. But I can remember a few scenes. It's funny I was thinking about it recently, and I had no idea what was the name of this movie, but IMDb had a link on the 1980's best kiss scene, and this movie ranked No 1. That is when I recognized the picture of the actors. I'm glad I can finally put a name on this movie. I'll definitely watch it again sometime.

I was maybe 12 or 13 the first time I saw it. I just bought it about three weeks ago. I hadn't seen it in years, but I still love it.

About 20 I think. I onyl discovered it about a year ago or so ago. Since I was about 16, Ive got interested in all of the 80s high school films, and this was one seemed to have escaped my attention. Found it in HMV looking for something else one day, it was cheap so I gave it a go. Loved it. I watched it again the other night for the first time in ages and still loved it. One of my favourite features is the little relationship between Kieth and Duncan, adds little subtle bits of humour to the film.

I was 16, and it rocked my world! As a niave baby-dyke, the scene with the kissing instruction was a fantasy for me; for some wiser tomboyish girl to lead me astray!

I fell so hard for Mary Stuart Masterson that i went out and bought everything else with her in it. Even her turn in Fried Green Tomatoes isn't as good as this.

I still think that she is cute.

Despite all that, i think that it is a great film all around and covers so many relevant teen topics. Parental pressure, peer pressure, peer rejection, social status, pressure to conform, sibling relationships etc.

I saw this film in the cinema when it came out, so 20 years ago I was 16. Can't believe this movie is 20 years old this year!! Music, writing and acting all brilliant.

Hey I was 16 in 1987, too. I didn't see this until the following year, however, on VHS. I barely remmber it, though, so I have it in my Netflix queue right now. I'd love to see this once again.

I was about 18 myself.

Watched it having been into John Hughes' stuff at the time, & still to this day it's my favourite "teen" film!
(The other 2 that still have a special place in my heart, are "Ferris Bueller's..." & "Less Than Zero"!).

I just finished watching it. I'm 14 (and on a John Hughes spree).
