SlamDance music

I am desperate to locate the song that was played twice in the film (lastly, as Drood starts the car, pushes up his chauffeur's cap in the rearview mirror, and drives away). I would have bet the title of it was "Got High Hopes" but I cannot find this wonderful and PERFECT song anywhere, except in this film. What is the real title and who is it by, and how might I get a copy?

Thanks for any help.

It's called High Hopes Performed by Tim Scott, 1987, for the David Geffen company, and licensed by Warner Brothers, for the film. I have the soundtrack on Lp, but would like to find a copy of the music in CD or mp3. The Score writer for the whole film is Mitchell Froom. I can't find his music anywhere either.

I'm assuming no demand... Did u actually sit through the film in the theatre though? I found only one song from the sound track in a digital format called... (I love you) For Sentimental reasons - recorded in the forties I think... I did some digging on Froom, he's a music producer, behind the scene's character, I imagine if you find his website (which I can not, & am still looking for), he may have a sample, or reason, why it was never released on cd.

If you do some digging on Ebay, you can find it in CD format.
The music in this film just positively rocks, and is totally worth a bit of extra money to order from Ebay.

I bought the LP when it came out in '87 and it remains one of my ultimate prized possessions. I've looked for a cd but I've given up. Only thing I found was the Ridgeway-song, sentimental reasons and now I've mailed The Fibonaccis for a copy of "Art life" (which I absolutely loooooove). But nowhere a complete copy to be found :*-(

If you are looking for the songs, write me at [email protected]. I'll be glad to share them.

Do you know what band performed the song with the chorus Doomed or something like that? I know its been awhile since you posted this... it was the scene where he firsts meets Virgina Madsen's character and everyone is "slamdancing" to this song...
Thanks

It's "Art life" by the Fibonaccis

High Hopes was also released on an album by the band Havalinas with Tim Scott on vocals (1990). Maybe not the same version as in the film.

I just found the soundtrack on one of the many file sharing services, so it's out there.

reply

Yep, found it too. An excellent soundtrack.
Is there anything out there with a similar sound?
