I simply cannot understand why this is rated so low. Then again, I saw this as an impressionable 13-year old.
I was blown away by the amazing soundtrack (own the vinyl), Hulce’s portrayal of Drood and the utterly cool cinematography. A cult classic for sure!

I certainly agree. This is one of my all time favorite movies. Also, Harry Dean Stanton's performance makes the film worth watching as well.

I saw it at its premiere at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood and LOVED IT!! and I got to see Adam Ant outside after the showing so that was cool.

it's the perfect LA feel, film (along with another 80s cult classic, Repo Man)

somehow this film got lost... I like and it's a fun, weird walk through the underbelly of the art world.

Virgina Madsen is great as the mysterious woman and Tom Hulce is perfect as the "wrong" man.

not a perfect film, but very cool and stylish.. and as I said, a really nice mirror of the 80s

Um, you lose - terrible film

The OP didn't lose. He did in fact, find five people (myself included) who like the film. I'm just saying.

I don't know if I love it, but I like it. I think the performances are all solid and the film does some interesting things with its cinematography, but its awfully disjointed and vague. If one likes offbeat films though, it's worth a look, just don't go expecting a Neo-noir in the vain of "Body Heat" or "Red Rock West" though.
