The Seduction Song.

Can anyone tell me the name of the song that Joey Wong sings with harp sounding instrument when she is on the dock when leslie cheung first sees her?
thanks

I remember a song that played during the scene where the two were making love. The literal translation of the song is "Let the Dawn Not Come", and it's sung by Sally Yeh.

It's more of a ghost's love song than a "seduction song". The title is obvious enough. The song is about the ghost beseeching the sun not to rise, so her most wonderful night could last forever.

that was a very beautiful song ... though some of the wording was funny. Much of the script's translation was very incorrect. Too bad the producers did not work with a knowledgeable person who could have ensured accurate subtitles.

i work for Joy Sales and they're the current licensees of their film catalogue. some of you may already know that their films are going through re-translations. however, due to an agreement between Fortune Star and Joy Sales, the remastered dvd's are to be released as is. meaning that Joy Sales can't touch the subtitles. however, we are giving the non-remastered titles a completely new facelift, so to speak. regretably, Joy Sales has re-released "A Chinese Ghost Story" trilogy boxset as is. I honestly would have loved to re-work on the english subs for this movie since this is one of my favorite movies of all time.

no, there are really no words, it is when he first hears her. she is playing the string instrument in the little shrine on the dock. that is the piece i'm looking for, it is an instrumental.

On the Fortune Star "Widescreen Collection", James Wong says in the interview that the song was one he wrote earlier and never used. An odd feature of this release is that the Daoist's song, "The Way" (performed by Wong) is not subtitled, nor is Leslie's version in the second film. But it does feature a DTS sound track.

No one can find the song that the ghost is playing on the Lute in the beginning of the film when she lures Leslie to her?

That's just an unnamed music cue in the film like all other music cues. Only the 3 pop songs in the film have titles. The filmmakers might have names internally for all the music tracks, but the public wouldn't know unless the tracks were published as a soundtrack album. Unfortunately, film soundtrack albums were rare in HK at the time. And as far as I know, no official album was ever made for this film. There was a fan-made album, however, but that was just a rip from the film's music. That album did name all the tracks. I believe that music you referred to was called "Beauty." But again, that was just a fan-created name and didn't really mean anything.
