DVD planned?

I saw this film in a film class and really enjoyed it. I was surprised to find that it isn't on DVD yet. Anyone hear anything regarding a digital release?

Hello,

I bought the 'Siesta'-DVD in Germany yesterday at a mediastore ('Saturn'). It is published bei e-m-s (http://www.e-m-s.de/home.htm) and contains english (stereo) and german (mono) audio. Running time approx. 93 min. PAL, Code 2.
I'm sorry, but I don't know, where it can be ordered via internet. Maybe at an auction (Emunio: http://www.emunio.de/ ebay: www.ebay.de) or at http://www.alles-dvd.at/ in Austria.

lot of greetings

Can somebody tell me when REGION 1 DVD will be released? This is the wierdest movie I hv ever seen which was quite a long time ago on Laserdisc.

reply

Wow, still waiting on the Region 1 release after all this time. I would love to see this film again. I remember thinking it was quite good when I saw it in the theater.

I have ordered (and just received) the DVD here in South Africa. It is a "Region-free" version, so no problems watching it in a "Region-1" Country.

You can get the so-called 'Collector's Edition' for under 7 Euros at Amazon Germany:

I have been waiting for over a decade for a DVD release on region 1 WS with 5.1 surround. I read this interview with the director Mary Lambert and she said there were many lawsuits involving all the producers so I'm pretty sure that's what's preventing it from getting a proper region 1 release. Also, someone keeps posting the Region 2 DVD on youtube so if you are tired of the quality on your VHS, it's a good way to see the movie the way it was meant to be seen without all the grain!
