Which Blu ray should I buy?

I'm thinking about adding this one to the collection. Amazon seems to have two different Blu rays but says very little about the difference. One seems like a blue version of the classic cover and the other shows Arnold in front of a stars & stripes motif. They both say "1987" so I have no idea what the year of the blu releases were or which is more recent. The price is almost the same on both of them.

I just noticed that they also seem to have a two-pack with Red Heat. I've never seen Red Heat, is it any good?

I believe you're talking about the Lion's Gate version and the Olive Films version. The Lion's Gate version is a clear winner in terms of features. It has subtitles, it has two audio commentaries, two featurettes and it has 7.1 audio while the Olive Films version only has 2.0 stereo audio and one audio commentary (but distinct commentary).

Thank you, this is very helpful. By looking down at the product details, it shows the studio, and the blue one is the Lions Gate version.

I'm also glad to know this site exists. I sometimes buy public domain movies, and I find it very difficult to guess what the best version is with a movie like that, unless Kino is one of the choices. Amazon user reviews are all grouped together by title and you never know what version you're reading a review of. I'll probably be using that site a lot from now on.

The Lionsgate Blu is probably the best one since it actually has bonus features. Unfortunately, the bonus features also have little to no relevance to the film.

As for Red Heat, that one's a guilty pleasure of mine, but be warned the bonus features on Red Heat aren't anything to brag about either, though there is supposed to be, from what I've heard at least, a somewhat interesting interview with Ed O'Ross, who played the bad guy in Red Heat.

This post is over a year old, but for potential buyers I recommend the Olive Films version. I owned the Lionsgate version previously & the Olive blu ray has a better picture & print.
