I just saw this on HBO and it's pretty bad. It might be somewhat decent if it wasn't partly a musical. It's just so corny. I like Billy Barty but this movie is just plain bad.

this was one of those movies from my childhood that is so incredibly comforting because it is so familiar. it's one that i watch when i'm sick- makes me feel better.

wow i thought i was the only one that felt that way about this movie being a comfort . it is wonderful isn't i watched it a lot as a child and i still love it the day day that i looked on here a year ago and i saw that it was on DVD i went to the store and bougt it i My VHS copy was so old that it was hard to watch i am so happy to have the DVD .

I love this movie. I thought Amy Irving was so pretty as Katie and yes, the movie is a bit cheesey but it IS a fairy tale and is pretty old. But what makes it cheesey also makes it wonderful!

It is perfect. It is Just like the book, no changes. The only change made was she marries the prince instead of the king. This movie is wonderful for all ages.

Was it because Billy Barty actually scared Amy Irving in the end? That part scared me quite a bit.

I don't know why. She could have picked him up and tossed him off the set, or stepped on him.

It's in turns charming, fun, scary, and sweet.

A great film, a kind they don't make these days.
