I found this movie..

I found it charming.

"i don't know what seven of those words mean" - peter griffin. i've been coming across this movie since i was a kid, but i can't recall ever finding it funny, and i still don't, the scene with the mic was more stressful and uncomfortable than funny, usually 1980s movies with these sort of stars are a lot of fun, but yet there is something enjoyable about this, actually it's more than that, i don't what it is, but watching it again as an adult i love this movie. usually i can't stand romantic comedies and find them just awful but this is different, it's like a combination of a fellas movie and a chick flick fused bringing them together, by the way, the light year comment was actually funny. daryl hannah has constantly been casted in funny movies co starring with its time biggest comedic stars i can't think of them all, and really neat movies like the 1993 tv remake of "attack of the 50ft woman", but as i was watching this right off it hit me how martin and his co worker (the actress from "shining") got along very well and she was cute to him, so they should've just got together instead of him struggling over the movie's leading lady, there are several topics on this board about getting a negative view of the leading lady he wants attention from, same reaction comes with the girl in the movie "bedazzled" (2000), it seems whenever there is another girl to be found in a plot like this, the re occurring opinion is "her instead", sort of contrasts the movies happy end, but i must say i find the girl in "bedazzled" and roxanne here not even close, i don't find the leading lady role in this off putting at all and she doesn't really alienate.
