Deatils on Rock n Roll Nightmare 2!!!!!!!!!

The clever 2003 short film Graveyard (about two disgruntled, underpaid bookstore clerks turned into zombies by their boss) for the first time brought together the talents of producer/director Ed Brisson of Fizz Films and longtime metal musician-turned-actor Jon Mikl Thor. Prior to his role in Graveyard, Thor had not appeared in a film in over fifteen years. Encouraged by the success of the Fizz Films short, Brisson and Thor plan to unite once more, this time for a feature-length follow-up to the most infamous film of the rocker's career: Rock N' Roll Nightmare. In the first Nightmare, Thor played John Triton, frontman for a heavy metal band that retreats to a secluded cabin for an intesive practice session and getaway. The music comes to an abrupt halt, however, when sinister forces reveal themselves and begin dispatching the band members and their girlfriends. In the end Triton must confront the prince of darkness alone, in the process revealing a closely guarded and unbelievable secret of his own.

With a number of dark comedy shorts to his credit and another short (which the director describes as a serious ghost story) on the way, Brisson will make his first attempt at a feature film with Rock N' Roll Nightmare 2. He is currently at work on the script, with plans to begin filming later this year, and believes that those familiar with the original may be surprised with what they find in the sequel. "If things go my way, this will be a very straight faced film, with bursts of violence and humour. I am looking to create something similar (in tone only) to Takashi Miike's Dead Or Alive. It will not be a self referrential or intentionally bad film - as I think some people are thinking it may be. I want to give this the serious treatment that I think is lacking in present day horror/b-movies." Part of that serious treatment involves avoiding one of the more notorious aspects of the original film: "Sorry," Brisson apologizes, "no bad puppets this time around."

According to Brisson's basic description of the story, Rock N' Roll Nightmare 2 will feature a present-day John Triton living a normal life, completely unaware of his colorful past. But as strange things begin to happen around him, Triton's memories are restored and he must confront the fact that Satan has returned and seeks to do battle once again.

The best news I've had all year...boy can I not wait for this. My only fear is that it might actually be a good film...

The movie (now called "Intercessor: Another Rock n' Roll Nightmare") is coming out on 11/29/2005. It's being released by Sub Rosa Cinema. Sub Rosa's website is: www.b-movie.com, and it's also available at TLA Video: www.tlavideo.com.

I saw the Intercessor last night at the Coolidge Theatre in Brookline, MA. last night. It was the premier showing and Thor played live afterwards. Have no fear of it being a glossy "good" movie. It is a worthy follow up and retains the purposeful cheesiness we expect. You will not be let down! It was awesome!

According to Thor Central the Intercessor and official Edge of Hell sequel are two different movies. Check:

This is the official place for Edge Of Hell 2 - All Hallows Eve. Not much there at the moment though..

Would it not be great to see the sequel premiering on USA UP ALL NIGHT with the original Rock N Roll Nightmare? I think so especially late on a Friday or Saturday night!

Let's not kid ourselves, here. Rock 'n' Roll Nightmare was hilarious, but it was by no means a good movie. Intercessor has many qualities of the original except the acting, plot, and music are far, far worse. Jon Mikl Thor is now old, fat, and balding, and it also took him roughly 4 hours to don his extra-stale plastic mask everytime (which, mind you, was quite funny, but not intentional). This movie surpasses Manos: The Hands of Fate and ranks behind only Feeders/Feeders 2 (same movie) and BoardingHouse on the worst movies of all time list. This DVD is better used as a coaster. I'm not going to say I didn't laugh my ass off, because I did, but this movie is so terrible it makes the original look like This is Spinal Tap. Seriously Scarecrow Gone Wild looks positively Wes Craven-esque (removing the years 1998-2004 plus Vampire in Brooklyn from his resume) compared to Intercessor, although I was happy to see Harry finally bite it.

Then the sequel would be great to see on USA UP ALL NIGHT then! It would fit right in with all of the other films that we all loved to watch with our favorite hosts Rhonda Shear and Gilbert Gottfried!

That would be great to see a sequel to the original Rock N Roll Nightmare! Plus, to top it all off the return of USA UP ALL NIGHT to air Rock N Roll Nighmare and Rock N Roll Nightmare 2. That would be awesome to see in my opinion!
