The Robot Carnival DVD is available....

The Robot Carnival DVD is available at animespectum.com, or more specifically, http://www.animespectrum.com/anime-dvd-r-robot-carnival.html
I just ordered mine for $15.83 with shipping. This is the original version, imported, with english subtitles in the options. 7 of the 9 shorts on this DVD don't have any dialogue anyway, so the language thing for those who insist on waiting for an English dubbed re-release, shouldn't be too bothered by it.

This isn't just another bootleg? How is the picture and sound? I love this show and want to get the best possible copy of it available on DVD...

Yup, most anime DVDs with chinese subtitles are bootlegs. Especially if they are region free.

Is it available here in the USA? I will get it as soon as I find it!

I ordered mine from Japan. Not cheap, but a very nice deluxe version of the movie. Regrettably I don't speak Japanese, so I can't read the booklet that interviews the artists who participated in this effort.

Got a nice official version from Amazon.fr (cheap!) through the post this morning. Unfortunately the only subtitles are French, but at least it's a nice official DVD.

Haven't seen it yet, but if there's hardly any dialogue anyway it shouldn't be much of a problem.
