who was that guy and what happened to him. where did they find him. he just popped up and went away after they sang

Lipsey was stewart the kid from the hotel that was "always getting pounded on". He was just dressed differently and I guess they gave him a little nickname.

That was comedian Barry Sobel. He sort of does a lot of rap in his comedy. He appeared on Rodney Dangerfield's 1987 HBO special Nothin' Goes Right (where he did a whole rap bit), and was Dylan McMillian on 227.

He was in "That thing you do" while the band appeared in a parody of the Frankie and Annette movies he was in the scened dancing and the got kiss from the Fauzannette character.
