Why was Rog calling out to Ogre?

Lewis punches Rog, sending him into the pool. Moments later, Rog is yelling out to Ogre, as if he needs help. I realize, ultimately, Rog was trying to make amends with Ogre, if only to suit his own needs, but still, why did he call out to him from the pool? It made it look like he couldn’t swim… which was stupid, considering he was supposed to be a jock.

Just because a guy can throw a football to a wide receiver doesn't necessarily mean the guy can swim.

I think it more had to do with Roger feeling that Ogre was about to change allegiances.

Maybe all jocks can't swim. He was a football player, not a swimmer.
