This movie is supposed to make no sense, right?

I didn't get the ending at all

They discovered who the original killer was, killed him, and faked their deaths as a publicity stunt to sell the film.

So the principal was the original killer. And I guess he started killing again because some characters (Clooney?) weren't there at the end when the fake deaths were revealed. So Steven and the lead actress really fought the real killer in the basement? But then they had to come up with the scam, get all the body parts made up and get everything in place. All that time the principal was just nailed to the wall before suddenly coming back to life in front of the cops?

But blake was a cop, who was hired on the spot as a actor. He was a COP lol. How much could they have paid him to quit and fake his own death? He was a cop!

I was thinking the same thing. With all the twists and cutting between the movie and "fake movie", plus the confusing ending, it seemed like the filmmakers purposely wanted the movie to make no sense.

It's confusing, but it's not something meant to boggle your mind over since it's just a low-budget slasher parody to begin with. Just roll with it and enjoy the fun mid-80's ambiance. That said, there aren't enough laughs and the film bogs down in the second half with tedious filler involving the two main characters (Brendan Hughes & Lori Lethin) searching the school.

I watched this tipsy last night and was thoroughly confused as to what the fuck was meant to be happening. I'm glad to see others had the same issue and it's not a case of me being a drunken idiot. I watched Graduation Day (1981) straight after this, in a further state of intoxication and followed that perfectly, so it's definitely an issue with this film.

It's the film within a film aspect and how it's edited. A lot of fake-outs and the poorly constructed narrative is puzzling.
