I liked it...what other terrible movies do you suggest?

I got a good laugh when I saw this one and enjoyed it...my friends however did not. My friend almost hates me for making him watch this movie (not whole heartedly though). Now he's trying to find a crap movie for me to watch. SO I was hoping to get some suggestions for a movie I can show him as a counter. any ideas?

My Lovely Burnt Brother and His Squashed Brain??? Now we're getting somewhere. I sure as hell can't compete with that, or LOL... The Bloody Video Horror That Made Me Puke on My Aunt Gertrude, but here's a few more random obscurities...

The Creeping Terror

reply

I haven't seen it yet, but there was a recent 'homage' made to Black Devil Doll From Hell, titled- Black Devil Doll(2007)

The Bloody Video Horror That Made Me Puke on My Aunt Gertrude isn't listed on IMDB, but it's from the same director who made the horrendous 'urban' horror flicks- Vampiyaz, Zombiez, and Bloodz vs. Wolvez.

Since Splatter Farm has been listed, we can't forget the Polonia Bros(RIP John) who have been making crap movies since Splatter Farm.
And Ron Bonk who has worked with the Polonia Bros and Tim Ritter(Truth or Dare 3), and Eric Stanze. Bonk, the man who gave us the Blair Witch rip-off, Strawberry Estates...oh, that's right SE isn't a BW rip-off because he filmed a version before BW came out, then refilmed it with new actors after BW....good 'ol Bonk.

Here's some just plain bad:

Night of Horror
And from the maker's of Night of Horror- The Curse of the Screaming Dead
The Brainsucker
Hellgate
The Freeway Maniac
Back Woods(2001)
The Maize The Movie
Hobgoblins

Hey Smerd, ever seen Venus Flytrap?

I recently ordered Black Devil Doll From Hell, and it got sent a month late, and the guy stuck Venus Flytrap in there just to be nice. I'd never even heard of it, and it's actually pretty good, and surprisingly original for a shot-on-video ripoff of The House On The Edge Of The Park. And, as far a Black Devil Doll From Hell goes... well, nevermind.

I also recently tracked down Please Don't Eat The Babies, so, LOL, thank's for that.

reply

I haven't heard of Venus Flytrap either, I read your review and it sounds like fun. I'll have to search it out.

I recently happened across Nightslave (1989) accidentally on Netflix, but it didn't say 'Add' just 'Save'...but it looks like cheesy fun.

"I also recently tracked down Please Don't Eat The Babies, so, LOL, thank's for that."

Ha ha, glad I could help! :p

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

I can't find any info anywhere on imdb about Nightslave, maybe it can be found on Amazon.

I've been meaning to write a review about Please don't eat the babies, but the words are just not coming to me.

Most recently, luck has been on my side and I've come across a few good ones. An obscurity called The Bushwhacker, and the even lesser known, The Night God Screamed (highly recommended). Just the other day, I came across Bruno Mattei's 2003 shot-on-video sequel/prequel/remake/rip-off of Cannibal Holocaust, Cannibal Holocaust: The Beginning aka Cannibal Holocaust 2, but I prefer to call it Cannibal Holocaust too. It's nice to see the Cannibal sub-genre is alive and well... kinda.

Now, I have my eye on The Witch Who Came From The Sea, and a little Danish beauty called The Sinful Dwarf. Any thoughts or warnings?

reply

Do you mean you couldn't find Nightslave at all on IMDB?
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0148532/

I've been curious about The Night God Screamed for years, but haven't seen it yet.
I did watch The Witch Who Came From The Sea a few years ago and enjoyed it.

I have been on the hunt or have been curious about-
Dead End ('85) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0131260/

Revenge of Billy the Kid ('92) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0102783/

Dumpster Baby ('00) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0279054/

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

No, I could find Nightslave on imdb, there's just not much info. Same with Dead End.

I'd love to get my hands on Andreas Schnaas's V.S. and V.S. 2, and especially, Goblet Of Gore, which I have never seen.

I found a vhs of Blood Lake on Amazon recently, but I make it a point to never pay over $800.00 for something shot on video... no, seriously, it was closer to $900.00. That's a little scary.

reply

Wow, did it even cost that much to make Blood Lake? I haven't seen it, but I remember seeing the video cover back in the 80's, wish I would have rented it.

The 80's really were the best time for shot on video movies.

I have this constant ongoing list of schlock I want to see, here's some more:

Twisted Nightmare(1987)
A Day of Judgment(1981)
Satan War(1979)
Savage Water(1979)
Scream(1981, aka The Outing)

I've heard rumors of the first 2 VS movies getting DVD releases, but nothing solid has come of it.

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

I rented Blood Lake from a Blockbuster when I was a kid, I don't remember much, but it felt like a real movie even less than Black Devil Doll From Hell, although, something tells me it probably cost more to make than Steckler's The Chooper ($500.00). By the way, I hear Steckler made a sequel to the incredibly strange creatures, just months before his death, called "One More Time", although, I've found no proof of this.

For the most part, I've always been partial to legendary 70's trash like Kidnapped Coed (still intrigues me) and Blood Freak (my all-time favorite), but I must say, you've really educated me on to the splendor of unknown 80's garbage. I'm still looking for that "lovely burnt brother" movie.

Earlier today, I actually ordered something from this decade, from Dark Sky Films, called Plague Town. It sounds very promising.

reply

The Chooper, now that brings back memories, not sure what kind of memories, but it does bring them back.

I've always leaned towards the 80's, but over the years I have been going back to the 70's. The 70's is responsible for some of the best in weird/offbeat horror- The Baby, The Child, Criminally Insane, Don't Deliver Us From Evil. I've also been enjoying the Japanese school-girl gang movies like- Lynch Mob Classroom.
Also, collecting the Drive-In Cult Classics 8 film sets has given me an appetite for the 70's, there are some great trash films on these sets- Cindy & Donna, Pick-up, The Babysitter, Weekend With The Babysitter, The Teacher, Trip With The Teacher, Malibu High, Pink Angels, The Specialist, Best Friends. Sadly Vol. 5 will never be released.

I love watching the trailers on the Something Weird DVDs, I want to see Toys Are Not For Children.

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

I never even heard of Criminally Insane until about a year ago. Ten minutes in to it, I thought to myself, where have you been all my life? Criminally Insane 2, on the other hand, was nearly unwatchable. someday, I hope to locate Death Nurse and Death Nurse 2. Ethel was just one of those priceless Chris Farley fat people who could see the humor in her own girth.

I'll definiely be adding Trip with the teacher to my collection and dont deliver us from evil and Toys are not for children will probably follow. If you're in to multiple dvd packs I would recommend the Drive-in 50 pack from Mill Creek. Alot of worthlessness like Mama Dracula, Voodoo Black Excorcist, and Murder Mansion, along with some surprisingly good ones like Going Steady, Savage Weekend and Spare Parts. Plus, some obscure ones like Country Blue, Katie's Passion, and In Hot Pursuit, some Blaxploitations, some Argento's, there's even a G-rated one called Throw Out The Anchor, whatever the hell that is.

God bless Something Weird Video. I love stuff like Tobacco Roody, Swamp Girl, and Hitchhike To Hell.

How about Switchblade Sisters, God Told Me to, Squirm, Gory Gory Hallelujah, and just in case you haven't seen Return To Sleepaway Camp yet, I don't think I've ever laughed so hard at anything. The Kid in that movie is another one of those Chris Farley fat people.

reply

Thanks for the heads up on Plague Town, I'm a sucker for killer kids movies, have you seen 'Who Can Kill A Child?'

I do want to get the Drive-In pack, I have been enjoying the Chilling Classics 50 movie pack- managed to see some I'd never been able to before like- Haunts, Naked Massacre, Scream Bloody Murder, Bell From Hell.
There are many on there I'd already seen(for me even if I didn't like the other movies on there, it's worth it to have a copy of Drive-In Massacre),but has other favorites- Funeral Home, Devil Times Five.

I've seen and enjoyed all of those except Gory Gory Hallelujah, which I've never heard of.

Yeah, that kid is what made me keep watching Return to Sleepaway Camp, one second you hate him, then you feel sorry for him, then he does something to hate him again. Though I have to say it was a little obvious Felissa Rose was the cop.

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

I haven't seen Who can kill a child? but it sounds really good, I'll check Amazon for that. If you dig killer kids then you've probably seen The Godsend, a low-key little british horror. I haven't seen a huge amount of British Horror, but I'm a huge fan of Psychomania and Vampyres

I've been curious about Scream Bloody Murder for a while, anything like Scream Baby Scream?

Personally, I wouldn't recommend Gory Gory Hallelujah to anyone. It's like they tried to pack as much half-ass humor as possible, into a slightly blasphemous, slightly John Waters-ish movie about... something, I don't know.

Here's some more I've recently tracked down... Cat In The Brain, Insaniac, The Strangler Of Blackmoor Castle, I Spit On Your Corpse, Psychos in Love, Demons, Lunch Meat, Tokyo Gore Police

Any news on the Leif Jonker's Darkness sequels? That's what I'm really waiting for, Darkness is possibly my favorite horror movie, not the vampire version, the original vhs of course. It captures the essence of horror perfectly, not unlike Burial Ground.

I was reading one of your earlier posts, and I think my next purchase will be The Milpitas Monster, I've gotta see this

reply

Is Lunch Meat listed on imdb?? I remember talking about this movie with my friend along time ago. I wouldn't mind seeing it.

One of the last 80's movies I rented was Rock N' Roll Nightmare. What a funny bad movie. I then had to see Black Roses which I remember seeing on USA network in the 90's.

reply

Google Lunch Meat, and the imdb site for it will be there, that's the only way to get to it.

USA used to be a good place to catch stuff like Basket Case and The Toxic Avenger, those days sure are long gone.

reply

I miss Commander USA

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

Milpitas Monster was the movie that got me into "bad" horror films, back in the early 80's I was only looking for horror movies that scared me, but when I saw MM I learned to appreciate the other side of horror.

Scream Bloody Murder is about a kid who kills his father with a tractor, loses an arm, goes to a mental asylum, is fitted with a hook, released as an adult, and goes on a killing spree. Good stuff!

I haven't seen Darkness yet, sounds good though.

Here's a movie I want to see when it comes out- Incest Death Squad, what a great title! Plus Lloyd Kaufman is in it.

I'm a long time fan of Psychos in Love, glad it got re-released on DVD, a few years ago it was released as a limited edition and the only way you could purchase it was through the director on Ebay.

Lunch Meat is classic.

I recently ordered Blood Games ('90)- Can't wait!!

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

I watched The Milpitas Monster last night, I love the acting, it's pretty much what I was looking for, definitely on the same level as Weasel's rip my flesh, although, Milpitas is a great deal more entertaining. The one that originally got me was Basket Case, way back in the 80's, which reminds me, I sure do miss USA Saturday Nightmares.

Anything with the words incest and death in the title probably shouldn't be ignored. Speaking of Kaufman, I'm hearing He's going to be in Herschell Gordon Lewis's new Florida Gore epic, Grim Fairy Tale. And not only that but it'll also include the legendary, Mr. Joel D. Wynkoop!! Hot diggity damn!!

Darkness has the reputation as a gore-fest with not much else going on, but it's really some beautiful horror. Speaking of which, I just got to see Plague Town. On the cover it says "a nightmare captured on film" and that's exactly how I would describe it. This day in time, horror this good, nay, this flawless, is unheard of, they totally did everything right, Best horror movie of the decade.

I got my eye on a couple releases from Unearthed, Bone Sickness and Two Front Teeth. have you seen either?

reply

I'd like to see a nice Special Edition DVD of Milpitas, especially with a group commentary by the Milpitas locals who got together and made the film.

Grim Fairy Tale, that sounds like fun. I really enjoyed 2001 Maniacs, I thought it was a great update.
Speaking of Wynkoop, I wonder when Ritter is going to direct a new film.

I'll have to check out Darkness.

I watched Plague Town on Sunday. Man, those kids freaked me out- I'll never look at hubcaps the same way again. Thanks again for the heads up on this one.

"Blood Games" was great. Hot scantily clad female baseball players fight for their lives from a group of rednecks. And it's got George Buck Flower.

I've heard of those two movies, but haven't seen them. Two Front Teeth looks like loads of fun. Have you seen "Elves" with Dan Haggerty?

I want to see "The Creature of the Sunny Side Up Trailer Park", directed by Christopher Coppola(Nick Cage's lil bro), what a great cast of veteran tv actors: Lynda Carter, Frank Gorshin, Shirley Jones, Bernie Kopell...

Also "Hunting Season" (2005), "Home Sick" (2007)

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

Milpitas definitely deserves the official treatment, although I've always felt dvd releases ruin "that look" the old ones on vhs had, Burial Ground probably being the best example I can think of.

2001 Maniacs was good, I found Blood Feast 2 to be more satisfying, while the Wizard Of Gore reimagining was so awful that I couldn't even make it half way through. Now I'm hearing about a Color Me Blood Red reimagining. Maybe they'll find some old water-bikes to stick in somewhere.

I'ts been too long for Ritter. I really hope Twisted Illusions 2 wasn't it for him. Dirty Cop and Killing Spree are some of my all-time favorites. I'd give anything to see Asbestos Felt make a drunken fool of himself one more time. Have you seen reconciled? That's the only one I haven't seen, besides the first twisted illusions.

I'll keep an eye out for Blood Games, Elves too. And I'm a little intrigued by this sunny side up movie, I'll assume big bro didn't make a cameo. I'm definitely getting Home Sick. Most recently, I got a hold of Bone Sickness which includes gore that must be seen to be believed, and Frankensteins Bloody Nightmare which turned out to be an incoherent, overrated joke. For some reason I expected alot from this movie and got nothing. If you've seen Begotten, it's kinda like that, otherwise, nevermind.

I finally found a copy of Tales From The Quadead Zone on Amazon, three thousand dollars!! That's it, I give up.

reply

I think Ritter even wrote and published a book. Seems like I came across info about it on the net a few years ago.
I haven't seen Reconciled either.

Having watched Island Fury again(yes I'm a glutton for punishment)I wonder what the story with the movie is- it's obvious that the flashback scenes is an entirely different movie than the "present day" scenes. The flashback stuff was made in the early 80's, while the the present day was made in the late 80's. I wonder if originally the film was never completed then another company came along and filmed new footage then released it. Which of course happened with a lot of films back then. I'm sure this is why we get the "the docks are gone", and older Jimmer saying he "tore down the house" because it was filmed in an entirely different location. And what happened to the woman down in the basement?

I do feel sorry for the Kirsten Baker fans who are buying the movie specifically for her, I think they'll be a lil disappointed :p

Add Werewolf in a Women's Prison to my "must see" list.

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

I just saw Reconciled. Not typical Ritter, but as always, a perfect example of an interesting/entertaining story not being overshadowed by the video camera. No Wynkoop, but there is a hilarious-looking dragon that shows up from time to time. Plus a positive message. I read on a website that Ritter may not direct again, but more than likely, he's taking an extended break, which could always mean someday he'll return with enough money to ditch the video.

I just wrote a review of Please Don't Eat The Babies a few days ago. Something about the vibe of that movie, and the way everyone carries themselves, almost reminds me of Troll 2. Except Troll 2 was filmed in another dimension, and PDETB is just awkward.

I was recently watching Buttcrack, haven't seen it in many years, it's alot better than I remember, I love it when that happens. Wade is the man.

I'm thinking of giving the Ichi and Guinea Pig series a try, I never really tapped into what Asia has to offer, although, you gotta love Attack Of The Mushroom people.

Werewolf in a Women's Prison sounds even better than The Rats Are Coming, The Werewolves Are Here, but perhaps not quite as remarkable as Werewolves on Wheels. But we'll see.

reply

Well, if Henenlotter can come back after all these years with a new film. And Greg Lamberson is coming back with a sequel to Slime City, with Slime City Massacre. I have hope for Ritter.

There's just something about Please Don't Eat The Daisies that keeps drawing me back.

Buttcrack has Mojo Nixon, so the movie doesn't need fixin'...Sorry, I was trying to make a reference to that Dead Milkman song.

I still haven't seen Fatty Drives The Bus

I've seen some Asian cinema- Battle Royale, the Ring trilogy, Machine Girl, Chinese Ghost Story,Close Encounters of the Spooky Kind(with Sammo Hung), Terrifying Girls' High School: Lynch Law Classroom(that's a great 70's exploitation flick with Japanese school girls), and a wacky horror comedy from the 70's called House(more Japanese school girls, and some really amazing effects.), Suicide Club, various martial arts flicks.
And some of the Japanese zombie flicks- Junk, Stacy: Attack of the Schoolgirl Zombies,
And a very fun Chinese zombie flick- Bio-Zombie
Oh yeah, and 2DLK- 2 Japanese ladies who share an apartment spend the whole movie trying to kill each other- great fun!

Now here's a zombie movie I want to see!!

Special Dead
When a zombie plague infects Camp Special Dude, a dude ranch for the mentally handicapped, a ragtag band of campers and counselors struggles to survive the night. Led by the indifferent, nun-chuck-wielding head counselor, Mac, and his wheelchair-bound sister Dale, the unlikely heroes fight their way off the mountain as, one by one, they're picked off and join the ranks of the walking dead. It's a campy stampede of blood, boobs and gore as some "very special" people show that they can kick some serious undead ass.

[deleted]

God help me, I recently saw Zombie Rampage. After reading about it, I was expecting something similar to Zombie '90, which couldn't have been a more accurate assumption as it would turn out. I can't believe I'm saying this, but in a way, Zombie '90 actually made more sense. About 30 minutes into it, it occured to me that I hadn't caught a single word uttered. Everyone was trying waaaay too hard to act mad. Exactly how much (incoherent) bickering does a movie like this need? As it would turn out, Zombie Rampage was exactly what I was hoping for.

I was also recently impressed by another 80's s.o.v. called Cannibal Campout. There were some trailers on the dvd, how is The Woodchipper Massacre?

I finally saw Two Front Teeth, which I would recommend simply because it's about as surreal as B-horror gets. The sight of the Vampire (tooth fairy) Santa, "Clausferatu" will forever haunt your dreams.

And I also just saw Special Dead. It's like Citizen Toxie, if Citizen Toxie focused on the "very special" through out the entire movie, in other words, it was awsome!!

Have you seen Gutterballs? Or Hands Of Blood? Or Screams Of A Winter Night?

and soon, I'll own my very own copy of Blood Games... and The Zombie Bloodbath Trilogy!! Damn right I'm a Todd Sheets fan now.

reply

The "Zombie Bloodbath" trilogy is a lot of fun. The 3rd is the weekest of the series. The first is a blast. Awesome low-budget gold.

"The Woodchipper Massacre" is goreless. With a title like that you can't help but think otherwise.

reply

I saw the first Zombie Bloodbath the other night. About as entertaining as a low-budget horror film from the 90's could possibly be. And how about that mullet guy? Where the hell did he come from?

I've had my eye on Woocchipper Massacre as well as Microwave Massacre for years but never took that $8 plunge. I'm thinking Video Violence 1 and 2 would be a more worthwhile purchase.

reply

I think you would enjoy Video Violence 1 and 2 more than Woodchipper Massacre. Woodchipper Massacre is a fun little comedy, but there is no massacre.

Microwave Massacre is good sleazy cheap fun. Corny dialogue, a "walk-in" sized microwave, cheesy effects.

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

I have a beat up copy of Screams of a Winter Night on VHS. Ultra low-budget anthology flick, but I really dig it.

Have you delved into the world of Paul Kener? Wendigo('78), and Savage Water('79)

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

Yeah, after recently watching Cannibal Campout, I'm now educated on Camp Motion Pictures, and I did recently see Video Violence 1 and 2. 1 was good, didn't have much patience for 2. The little booklet that came with the dvd was interesting, it mentioned several other sov's, such as Boarding House, sounds interesting.

You should really check out Gutterballs, I just saw it. It's like I Spit On Your Grave with a bowling pin thrown in... or shoved in. Reminds me of The Doom Generation, with the crudeness and all, yet it's very 80's, and very very gory and borderline(?) pornographic.

I've been looking for Savage Water, but no luck.

Don't forget about the new Combat Shock Tromasterpiece release, mine is on the way.

And speaking of dvd releases, Messiah Of Evil, the official dvd release will finally be out next month by Code Red. Extras, the original score, and oh yeah, audio commentary!!

reply

I think Boardinghouse is one of the first SOV movies. I've seen it, but it's been a long time.

I do want to see Gutterballs. The word Savage, and the theme for I Spit made me think of the 80's classic "Savage Streets" with Linda Blair. Good stuff.

I've really been happy with Code Red DVDs, love all the extras and commentaries.

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

Any low-budget Vampire flicks (new or old) come to mind? I recently got hooked on HBO's Trueblood.

And even more recently, I bought a movie I really, really wish I hadn't called Terror At Blood Fart Lake.

reply

Satan's Black Wedding(1975) from Nick Millard, director of Criminally Insane.
The Tenderness of Wolves(1973)
Aswang(1994) Filipino vampire in America
The Reflecting Skin(1990) with Viggo Mortensen

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

What up, Smerd? So, anyway, a few months ago, I bought one of Chris Seaver's new movies, Terror At Blood Fart Lake, which would be my introduction to LBP. Honestly, I hated it, I found it irritating, and ridiculous, to the point that I wanted to take it out of the dvd player and break it. This obnoxious parody of a parody rubbed me the wrong way, to say the least. So, here I am, a few months later, and I now own 14 LBP flicks, and I've seen Blood Fart Lake I don't know how many times, I lost count. LBP won me over, plain and simple. In case you haven't seen this movie, it is a true work of art, with some one-liners that will leave you in a teary-eyed stupor. This Seaver guy is a genius. I sure didn't see that one coming.

Teen Ape Goes To Camp is also a new favorite. And I just saw Taintlight, and I Spit Chew On Your Grave, which are hilarious. Look out for Teen Ape vs. The Monster Nazi Apocalypse (from Troma) some time next year. And there's also Wet Heat, Film Crew, Carnage For The Destroyer, Destruction Kings, The Filthy Mcnasty Trilogy, Deathbone, Ski Wolf, and ofcourse, Mulva. I'm Truly baffled that Blood Fart Lake has led to all of this.

And some interesting non-LBP's I've recently come across...

Better Living Through Killing
Townies
At Dawn They Sleep
Urban Flesh
Super Badass
Love Me Deadly
To Dance With Death
Sick Girl

How about you? Seen any good B-cinema lately?

reply

Hey Troma,

I've written some of those down from your list.

I am eagerly awaiting Slime City Massacre- the long awaited sequel to Slime City.

I did recently pick up the Too Cool For School Collection(Cave Girl, Coach, Hunk, Jocks, Weekend Pass, My Tutor, My Chauffeur, Malibu Beach, Beach Girls,The Pom Pom Girls, Tomboy, and The Van)

Also bought the teen sex comedy classic Screwballs...and one from the late 70's I've never seen before King Frat(1979)

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

I only got around to seeing Slime City just a few months ago. Definitely some impressive 80's Horror. I got the Slime City Grindhouse Collection. There's some pretty good stuff on there. Here's some more of my most recent discoveries.

Cheerleader Autopsy (Not quite as good as it sounds, but still pretty good)
Lucker The Necrophagous (Sick Horror from Belgium)
Meat Weed Madness (now I've seen it all)
Henenlotter's Bad Biology (worth waiting for)
Gimme Skelter (from the director of The Stink Of Flesh.)
Hanger (from the director of Gutterballs)
Necroville (A Kevin Smith movie courtesy of Billy Garberina)
Alice In Wasteland (Now, that's a chick flick)

I'm now in the middle of exploring the "Toxie's Triple Terror" series. And wouldn't you know it, Demented Death Farm Massacre, Curse Of The Cannibal Confederates, and Deadly Daphne's Revenge ALL turned out to be fairly decent. I was genuinely shocked.

Next on my most wanted list, The Machine Girl, Gone The Way Of Flesh, Houseboat Horror, and Feeding The Masses.

reply

I just watched The Machine Girl again today. Lots of blood spraying and dismemberment. "How do you like my drill bra?"

Can't wait to see Slime City Massacre.

Check out - The Dark Power, more great cheesiness from the 80's.

That's too bad about Cheerleader Autopsy, what waste of a great title.

Speaking of cheerleaders, I want to see All Cheerleaders Die. The movie Lucky McKee did before May.

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

I really dig Lucky McKee. May was awsome. Have you seen Roman? Directed by Angela Bettis, and starring McKee.

Ever heard of Bill Zebub? Director of insane blasphemous schlock, such as...

Bad Acid (my personal favorite)
The Worst Horror Movie Ever Made
Metal Retardation
Rape Is A Circle
Assmonster: The Making of a Horror Movie
Kill the Scream Queen
Skits-O-Phrenia
Stereotypes Don't Just Disappear Into Thin Air
Breaking Her Will

Speaking of blasphemous, I got my eye on a little something called Slaughtered Vomit Dolls. Still trying to decide on whether to go there or not. LOL!!

Next on my list...

August Underground
Snakewoman
Last House On The Beach
Strange Things Happen At Sundown
Black Devil Doll

reply

Roman is excellent. I'd love to see McKee play more psychotic roles.

I have heard of Zebub but haven't actually seen his movies.

I have my eyes out for:

Mad Mutilator '83 (Sounds like a good trashy French schlockfest)

Suffer, Little Children '83

Månguden '88 aka The Moon God

Tracking '81 (Four teenage girls are terrorized by the ghost of a sex-mad American soldier who wants to rape them.)

Killer! '89 (A man is made insane by medical experiments and begins a murder and cannibalism spree.)

South of Hell Mountain '71 (After planning to just rob a gold mine, an outlaw and his two sons end up killing all of the miners...)

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

I'm also looking for Suffer, Little Children. Lately, I've been itching for some obscure vhs. I just bought Summer Camp Nightmare. I haven't seen that in almost 20 years. My next purchase will either include He Kills Night After Night After Night, Nightmare At Shadow Woods, or Terror At Red Wolf Inn. Any thoughts, or advice?

Keep an eye out for Beyond McNasty: Filthy McNasty 4, and also Mulva 3, and like 2 or 3 other Seaver flicks. It's gonna be a big year for LBP.

reply

For Terror At Red Wolf Inn- there is a gorier version, read these comments here:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069362/board/thread/139621116

I have the cut version, I wasn't even aware there was more gore- it's not like some horror movies where you can tell its been cut. It's still a great little horror film, sort of a Motel Hell before Motel Hell. And some nice weird moments like the shark scene.

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

LOL, the shark scene was fun. Pretty decent movie. For some reason I was under the impression that Terror At The Red Wolf Inn was a British flick. That was kinda the only reason I bought it. Still glad I did. So, Any good obscure 70's British Horror flicks come to mind?

Ever heard of an obscure 60's biker movie called Sinners Blood?

Just ordered Night School. I have a good feeling about this one.

My next purchase will include either God's Bloody Acre, or a film called Skullduggery. Any words of wisdom?

reply

Skullduggery- I assume your talking about the '83 one, and not the '70 one with Burt Reynolds? The '83 one is....interesting.

God's Bloody Acre is a neat little exploitation flick.

I'm thinking on the 70's British horror...

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

Yeah, definitely the one from '83. And by "interesting", I'll just go ahead and assume you mean "ridiculous and confusing". Sounds awsome. I gotta get that one soon, along with a Scottish Horror movie I've been reading about called Dark Nature.

I saw God's Bloody Acre last week. Pretty much what I was hoping for, although, a laugh or 2 would have been nice. Any opinions on The Playgirl Killer?

Have you seen Girly (AKA Mumsy, Nanny, Sonny & Girly)? These days, it ain't often I find a Horror movie that I LOVE. Now, that's what I call British Horror.

How about Hell's Ground? Definitely my first Low-budget Horror from Pakistan.

reply

"And by "interesting", I'll just go ahead and assume you mean "ridiculous and confusing"."

Absolutely!

I need to see Girly again, it's been since the 80's- but I do remember enjoying it.

Glad you liked God's Bloody Acre, nice little gem there.

I haven't seen any Pakistan horror films yet...I'll have to check it out.

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

Have you seen the 70's exploitation flick Killer's Moon? Escaped mental patients terrorize a group of British school girls.

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

Can't say I've seen Killer's Moon, yet, but it's now on the list. I did just recently see Twisted Nightmare. And speaking of painfully dull movies, I also finally got around to seeing Skullduggery... and now, please, let's never speak of this movie again, LOL!!

Here's some more I've recently come across...

Pep Squad: A recent Troma release. Hilarious.

Bloodthirsty Cannibal Demons: From good ol' Todd Sheets. Worthless

Zombies Anonymous: Ever wonder what Shatter Dead would be like if it were awsome?

Deadgirl: Written by Trent Haaga. Gruesome, mean-spirited and original.

Splatter Farm: I'd be surprised if you hadn't seen this one, but in case you haven't, I'm talking about Awkward twin brothers with short shorts, pathetic, little mustasches, who sound as if they have brain-damage. This is 80's s.o.v. Heaven.

A movie called Brainjacked will be out next month. Looks really promising. From the same dvd label as future H.G. Lewis release, The Uh-Oh Show.

Here's a few more I'm itching to see

Fat Guy Goes Nutzoid
Blood And Sex Nightmare
Unmasked Part 25
Microwave Massacre (I can't believe I still haven't seen this)
Night Of The Howling Beast
The Evictors

reply

I have seen Splatter Farm. The Polonia brothers. You should look them up they have a long history of straight to DVD stuff. They've worked with Ron Bonk(Strawberry Estates) quite a bit. Sadly John Polonia passed away in 2008....not exactly a fan of their work, but there might be something in there.

I have seen Microwave Massacre, and own it on DVD. This goes back to my youth in the 80's renting horror after horror movie. Anything with Massacre in the title always caught my eye- Microwave Massacre came in one of those giant oversized boxes. It's good 'ol cheesy horror comedy. Love the giant microwave!

I have seen Unmasked Part 25, been ages, from what I remember it's a slasher spoof.

The Evictors is excellent. From Charles Pierce who gave us Legend Of Boggy Creek and The Town That Dreaded Sundown.

I like Trent Haaga, I liked that movie he did where him and his wife are serial killers and they get in a big fight- Suburban Nightmare.

Pep Squad looks fun.

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

Finally tracked down a copy of Blood Lake. Some of these B-movies I track down actually turn out to not be worth the search. Blood Lake is not one of those B-movies. It was beautiful, I tell you.

Check out Zombie Abomination: The Italian Zombie Movie Part 1 and Zombie Atrocity: The Italian Zombie Movie Part 2. Incredibly clever spoofs of Fulci and Mattei.

Next on my list?

Bubba's Chili Parlor

P.S. Mulva: Zombie Ass Kicker is being remade.

reply

Haha a remake? Already?

Thanks for the heads up on those zombie movies!!

I found something you'll want to add to your collection-
http://retroslashers.net/making-of-the-black-devil-doll-bobblehead/

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

Hey, that's pretty cool. Speaking of Black Devil Doll From Hell, it's being officially released on dvd next month. And it gets better. One of the extras will be Chester Turners "other" movie, Tales From The Quadead Zone.

Speaking of awsome news. Tim Ritter is back. Look out for Truth Or Dare 4. Can I get an amen?

Alright, so, recently I sat through something called the vomit gore trilogy. Created by a guy named Lucifer Valentine, an alleged satanist. Slaughtered Vomit Dolls, ReGOREgitated Sacrifice, and Slow Torture Puke Chamber. You'll never truly grasp what "too far" really means until you see the things I saw. Monsterous mutilations and random vomiting is only the beginning, as I just wasn't prepared for the despicable acts portrayed in these evil, evil films. These flicks aren't too big on dialogue, and the editing, and audio is weird, and the only way to really know what it's about is by reading the back of the dvd case. Although, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't intrigued. The only one I would actually recommend is ReGOREgitated Sacrifice, which takes place inside a dying mind, which is seconds away from descending into hell. The things I saw in this movie probably took years off my life. It's that hardcore. In Slow Torture Puke Chamber, we get to see a guy rip off a babies arm, and put it in a blender, drink liquid baby arm, vomit it back up, and drink it again. Good times. When it was all over, I was literally shaking and my stomach was in knots. Nothing could have prepared me for this. It's just that I saw some things that I just had no business seeing. And that's all I'm gonna say about it.

reply

Sorry for such a long gap in replies, things got hectic around here!

I will def be buying that DVD, and looking out for Tim Ritter's new movie. I think he's published a couple of books, have you read any of those?

A few months ago I picked up the 50 movie set- PURE TERROR, been working my way through it, I really enjoy the set:

The Amazing Transparent Man
Anatomy of a Psycho
Blood Sabbath
Bloody Pit of Horror
Crucible of Horror
Curse of Bigfoot
Death in the Shadows
Death Warmed Up
The Devil's Nightmare
Devil's Possessed
Doctor Jekyll and the Werewolf
Don't Answer the Phone!
Double Exposure
The Dungeon of Harrow
The Eerie Midnight Horror Show
The Embalmer
Evil Brain from Outer Space
Fangs of the Living Dead
Frankenstein 80
Grave of the Vampire
Green Eyes
Guru,the Mad Monk
Hands of Steel
Horror Rises from the Tomb
The House by the Cemetery
The House That Screamed
It Happened at Nightmare Inn
Keep My Grave Open
Manos:The Hands of Fate
The Manster
Monstroid
Mutant
My Mom's a Werewolf
The Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave
Night Fright
Night of Bloody Horror
Night of the Blood Beast
The Oval Portrait
Point of Terror
The Sadist
Satan's Slave
Scared to Death
The Tell-Tale Heart
Terror Creatures from the Grave
Terror in the Jungle
They Saved Hitler's Brain
Thirsty Dead, The
The Undertaker and His Pals
Vampire's Night Orgy
The Werewolf of Washington

There's some great stinkers in there. The most recent one I watched was The House That Screamed, a late 60's Spanish horror flick about girls being killed off at an all girls school. The makers of PIECES definitely borrowed some ideas from this.

I've read about the trilogy, especially Slaughtered Vomit Dolls....think I'll pass!

Hope you're having a great new year!

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

How's it goin', Smerd? I've been hanging out on the Horror board, lately. Probably a little too much. You can learn alot there. Still no Devil Doll release. Or no Uh-Oh Show for that matter. And no, I haven't read any Ritter books

That's a nice looking package. So, you've seen Keep My Grave Open? Unusual, somber little movie. Oboviously nothing impressive, but
if you're a Brownrigg completist like me, then it's kinda necessary.

I've been thinking about getting a hold of Blood Sabbath and Manos.

A while ago, I bought the Mill Creek Chilling Classics 50 pack. I wasn't quite as lucky, as the only remotely watchable flicks on there (Messiah Of Evil, Milpitas Monster, Drive-In Massacre, Horrors Of Spider Island & Bad Taste) are ones I already own.

However, in the last week, I got the Drive-In Cult Classics 8-Pack, with Malibu High, Cindy & Donna & Pick-Up. Now, that's more like it.

Alright. Down to business...

Here's the gems (worth mentioning) that I've added to my collection, lately.

Mark Of The Witch
Brides Wore Blood
Bummer (produced by Dave Friedman. He just recently died, in case you didn't know)
Little Corey Gorey (If I knew how good this was, I woulda bought it years ago)
Nun Of That
Sympathy (2007, increcible low-budget thriller)
Chainsaw Sally
The Chainsaw Sally Show season 1
Nightmare At Shadow Woods
Hollow Gate (no doubt one of the bottom 5 of the 80's)
Evil Come, Evil Go (excellent)
Blood On The Highway (Hilarious new vampire comedy)
Easter Bunny Kill Kill
Smash Cut
Emanuelle & The Last Cannibals
Zombi 3
Whiskey Mountain

In case you don't know it, God's Bloody Acre has recently got the official treatment. Haven't gotten a copy yet. Amazon sold out faster than one would think.

Future additions to my collection.

Thankskilling
Bleading lady (new movie from director of Gutterballs)
Wet Wilderness
Bloodbath in the House of Knives
Blood Oath
Crypt of Dark Secrets
Mama's dirty girls
Night of the Witches
Hardgore
Hell Fire On Ice

And here's the trailer for a new Troma movie that I'm looking forward to...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_qubJXp8lE

New year goin' just fine. Same to ya, buddy.

Ya know, Gene. There are times when I suspect that you're the brains of this outfit.

reply

I was happy with the 50 Chilling Classics, very few of the films I didn't like, my set didn't come with Milpitas Monster.

I have all 4 volumes of the Drive-In Cult Classics, the same company has released some cool sets, like the Too Cool For School Collection, and one I don't recall the title but it's all biker movies.

Zombi 3 is great, perfect double feature with Hell Of The Living Dead.

Did hear about Friedman, sad...one of the greats. I liked the DVD commentaries he did with HG Lewis.

Thanks for the head's up on God's Bloody Acre!!

The most recent film I watched in the Pure Terror set is The House That Screamed...excellent! Love that ending!

have you seen an sov alien flick from the 90's called Feeders?? Directed by Jon McBride & the Polonia twins! Excellent Z-grade trash!

reply

I have...it's one of their more enjoyable films.

Have you seen Creature From Hillbilly Lagoon? It's fun....kinda like if Redneck Zombies raped Creature From The Black Lagoon.

Just ordered from Amazon- Code Red's release of The Witchmaker...it's a rare blind buy for me, but swamps and devil cults and Alvy Moore from Green Acres!

I've been tempted to get Creature From Hillbilly Lagoon for a while. never took the plunge, however.

After a rather lengthy dry spell, I came across this one, today, & just had to pick it up.

Tracked down a copy of Venus Flytrap, I know you've seen it, this will be perfect for the Turkey challenge.

Watched Todd Sheet's Bimbo BC hahaha What the hell did I just watch?

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

I watched a few minutes of it, the other day. But figured I was wasting my time. So, I'll finish it first thing next month. But I really liked what I saw.

I too will be making Venus Flytrap apart of the challenge. I still think it should be rated a little lower. Although, it's pretty good, I guess, for something so obscure.

This should be arriving, hopefully today. http://www.amazon.com/Decrepit-Crypt-Nightmares-Movie-Pack/dp/B000QQDK YG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1321456381&sr=8-1

Theres atleast one Todd Sheets in there, to complete my Sheets trifecta. Alot of low-rated stuff in there.

I'm going to buy those sets for next year, I think there are 4 of them.

I saw you watched The Man Who Collected Food.....and?

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

reply

LoL, you already have plans on doin' that again? I don't think I will. If I do, I'll be sure to pick up those other 3.

AND wow! I loved it. A quality Horror movie that's hilarious, without being an actual Horror-comedy. I was very impressed. Highly recommended.
