I'm actually not a huge fan of remakes. And I honestly don't feel like this movie warrents one, seeing how it is so great as is. But I can't help thinking that if a studio were to remake this film, that Vince Vaughn as Nick and Steve Carell as Bob would be the perfect choices to take over the leading roles.

shareAre you crazy? Those two would ruin a great comedy and feel it should not be touched at all in my opinion! That is the problem with everyone. They see a old movie or something and say lets make a remake out of this! I am glad that no one has tried to do any of the remakes of Abbott and Costello films or even of the shorts of The Three Stooges!
There is no way any of the comedians today could pull off any of the films or things that those classic comedians did. So do not touch it or ruin it at all!

I can sort of agree with the casting choices of the OP, but I don't think that a remake in this age would be able to recreate the kind of corny yet funny feeling of the original. It's a cliché but they don't make movies like this anymore.
