Good Film

I quite liked this film, i saw it again today and it still touched me emotionally in some parts and i saw deeper underneath the surface, i think this film teaches a few lessons like tolerance and love for everything, might sound a bit hippyish but hey the 80's was a strange place. I loved the simplicity of the music, that cascading waterfall music they play thru 80% of the movie, made me think how movies have changed in our time and how the large operatic performances in modern films absolutey envelope you. I have a soft spot for 80's films, full of inaccuracies and naivety disneyesque themes. They have quite a simple msg or lesson to give, in this film they concentrated on how we should treat other animals with respect and they are also intelligent and not to ignore our humanity when we feel threatened in this case it was the fear of the cold war which created project X. I thought all the actors in this film did great, especially Broderick, throughout the film emotions are communicated thru a simple look. I really enjoyed War Games which is another classic 80's movie with Broderick, that is on the same kinda level.

Knowing that the chimps were abused in the making of this film ruins it for me.

I still enjoy this movie very much because I love to see them get free in the end, but knowing abuse occured, it does kind of give me a sick feeling.
