Remake Rumors

I usually don't get really pissed off with remakes. I think some of them are even decent. I just don't see how this could be improved upon.

reply

You know it will be full PC if remade. No honkeeys allowed. Probably very few "CIS" people in the starring roles. In short, it will be a shit bag dressed up as a movie.

reply

yep, Buttercup would be Asian and Wesley would be black.

reply

It couldn't be. That's the thing.

reply

My first thought was "inconceivable"

reply

I'm not surprised anymore.

reply

Bad movies need to be remade. Not good ones.

reply

Agreed. I want them to start remaking "The Hobbit", not a movie that was actually good!

I don't think modern Hollywood has a hope in hell of capturing the absurd-yet-whimsical humor of this story.

THE PRINCESS BRIDE IS ONE OF MY 25 FAVORITE FILMS EVER...THAT SAID...HOW DOES A REMAKE IMPACT THE ORIGINAL?THE ANSWER IS IT DOESNT IN ANY NEGATIVE WAY.HOWEVER GOOD OR BAD,THE REMAKE FOCUSES A LOT OF FRESH ATTENTION ON THE ORIGINAL...PLUS,MAYBE THE REMAKE IS A FUN FLICK...THE CASTING IS KEY.ESPECIALLY WITH WESTLEY,INIGO AND FEZZIK.

I agree that remakes don't really impact on the original other than a bad remake can tarnish the name for those who haven't seen the original. It is an adaptation of a book as well and I usually tend to be a little more lenient on those. I think the reason why I would never want to see a re adaption is that this one is magic.

reply

Never seen it.

reply

WOW.

reply

Lol.

reply

me neither

“We have so many people coming to us saying, ‘We want to remake this show or that show,’” Vinciquerra told Variety. “Very famous people whose names I won’t use, but they want to redo ‘The Princess Bride.’”

My money says these "very famous people" are current or ex-Disney trollops who want to play Buttercup, or possibly even the idiot Jenner or Kardashian ladies who feel that they could do oh so much better than Robin Wright did.

Plus, in today's society, the SJWs would be up in arms demanding that Buttercup should be the hero and rescue herself because she don't need no man to do it for her.

Enchanted from the early 2000s already flipped the script on the princess saving the prince, without resorting to political hot-shot messages.

~~/o/

reply

That is a true statement

reply

Definitely. It's not the political messages that are bad per se than it is the overt ones, that spoon feed in front of the audience's faces.

MANDY PATINKIN MUST PLAY THE STORY READING GRANDFATHER.

reply

This is the way.

can't believe that no one has replied with "inconceivable"
