Did Inigo bite off a piece of the miracle pill for himself?

A friend of mine theorized that right before giving Westley the miracle pill he bit off a piece for himself and that's why he was able to recover after Rogen threw the knife in his gut.

I never even thought about it - I thought he was just kissing it for good luck.
